Rode to Cowbell, a local Brewery in Blyth Ontario and arrived early for our lunch reservation so we walked around the property and noticed a giant Muskoka chair (or as they say down south of the border Adirondack chair). We got a picture taken sitting in the chair and noticed a sign promoting a contest to find and photograph the other eight giant chairs in the county for a $50 gift card. That sounds simple and a sure thing so guess what we did after lunch? Yup, we mapped it out and away we went.
After a few miles down a narrow gravel road we arrived at the second chair location only to find we’re on the wrong side of the bridge. But I see red chairs on the closed to traffic bridge. A couple of cyclists were coming across from the other side and we told them we’re looking for the giant chair. Pointing further east beyond the bridge she says, “Yeah, it’s up the hill at the highway.” So we hoofed it up the gravel hill in our gear, got the selfie and back down to the bike to find #3.
#3 was easy to find beside the road in an open field. #4 was at a wake park that was closed but I got a picture from the road outside the locked gate. The rest of them were in close proximity to each other in another town.
Sent in my photos as instructed and posted on social media to qualify for the gift card. We’ll see if they fulfill their offer.
Got me to thinking maybe we could have a “Bikes and Big Chairs” or “Bikes and Breweries” section to see where STs show up.
