These things do work!

http://www.blackicecooling.com/
We just got back today from a 5 day trip from St. Louis to Eureka Springs and back and yes it was HOT! Temps in the upper 90's and heat index's of 105 to 110. If not for the Black Ice it would have been miserable while riding with all the gear.
I seen this post on another site and decided to order 2 sets (2 neck wraps and 4 rechargeable packs), well they do work as promised. I carried a small cooler to keep the extra pack charged so we could change them when needed. They do only last about an hour but stopping to change them was a snap. The pack Velcro's to the neck wrap and this will fit under the collar of your jacket, this also helps hold it in place. It just took seconds to change once stopped, I didn't even turn off the motor.
The Black Ice combined with a CamelBak was the ticket for hot weather riding.

Paul,
To recharge them you just put them in ice. I have a lunch box size cooler and I would fill it with ice in the morning, it would last all most all day, of course it would be ice water by the end of the day but the packs will still refreeze in the ice water.
They are a bit pricey but they do work as advertised and made our trip allot more comfortable.

Another big plus was using the CamelBak, I use this when I ride off road. I just fill it with ice water and I can drink while riding.

I would think so, and that one fits around the neck of a 480 lbs rider.

Or a 105 lbs aerobics instructor, like the image shows.
Yeah...I was thinking I could use that one on my neck. :)
