for every time I hit a deer with my motorcycle on the way to work, I'd have three nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's still weird it happened three times.
I'm fine, didn't go down. I caught some part of the deer with my left leg, but I've gotten worse when I played hockey.
No word on repair/total yet.

My wife has informed me that if I'm going to continue to hunt deer, I need to start using cheaper ammunition.

I'm convinced that there's virtually nothing you can do to miss deer. I had one jump out at me on a busy highway outside a city in the west. The highway was elevated a bit from the surround area. The area to the sides was just scrub brush. Everyone had stopped for a traffic light, so we were still accelerating and not up to the speed limit.

My dash camera took video at 30 frames per second. Fast. I went back and reviewed the footage to see what I'd missed. There was nothing to be seen to the side...and then there was a deer right in front of me. And then it was in front of the pickup truck in the other lane. And then it was gone. That fast.

I think when your time is up, it's up.

Was that today? I saw a bike that looked just like that riding with another Beemer (An F900 or something I think) on 52 east of New Richmond about 1 PM today.

Yea we have a lot of deer east of Cinti
No, it was Tuesday, about 5am, but it was on 52. Kellog, just west of Salem. Two of my hits were on 52, one was in the city, MLK less than a mile from Hospital Hill, where I work.

I think so, too. Its listed weight is about 20lbs heavier than the ST and I was able to keep it up as well. Though due to parts out of stock, it still has scars four years later.

My wife believes this is revenge for the fawn I hit with my truck years ago. Including my trucks, I have 7 deer strikes over 25 years
She just may be right!
I've had numerous deer try to take me out since I killed one of their brethren on June 1.
I think they congregate on DeerBook ... ;)

I've yet to have had the honor, but I've read lots of firsthand accounts.
From all I've learned from these, bigger bikes are better, at least in survival odds for the rider. (Who cares about the deer... they can be replaced!)
I'm also glad that you survived, and I hope your insurance is more kind and thoughtful towards you than the hoofed animal was.
