Since a pair of my favorite heated gloves - Gordon's - were destroyed in my June 1 deer encounter and since they are out of business I went looking for solution.
I considered buying a new set of gloves from Churchhill Gloves (Gordon's glove source) and having heat put into them.
But that was going to be pretty expensive.
I've tried WarmNSafe gloves - never lasted much over 1 year if I used them a lot (several pairs) and no better success from Gerbings T5s.
While searching around I found this company -
https://www.california-heat.com/
So I purchased a pair of their 12V 3XL gloves from them for $175 - no tax no shipping.
Today I wore them on a test ride of 2-3 hours where the temps never got above 35 degrees F.
I have heated grips on the ST1100s but I did not use them on purpose just to see how the gloves would do by themselves.
My hands (which are really sensitive to cold due to several surgeries) stayed nice and warm the entire time.
Their gauntlet glove product information states -
• Constructed of lightweight Nylon, leather and tricot lining
• Includes flexible Thinsulate® insulation and adjustable Velcro wrist strap
• Waterproof & windproof with breathable HiPora®
• Touchscreen compatible index fingers & rubber goggle/lens wiper on thumb
• Heating elements located on both sides of the hand, from the wrist to the fingertips
• For standalone operation, simply use the y-harness (included) to connect directly to a temperature controller
• Power: 27W @ 12V or 2.4A total • Max Heat 135° F
Lifetime Warranty on the Finewire™ Heating Elements & Plugs
Finewire™ heating elements are composed of interwoven, highly conductive microfibers that have a heavy-duty coating applied. This superior craftsmanship creates an extremely durable product that heats up quickly, ensuring comfortable warmth during any cold weather activity.
As we know from Gerbings and Gordons, 'lifetime warranty' means as long as the company is still in business and in the hands of the original owners!
If they stand up to frequent use (which only time will tell) I will be very pleased with them.
Their coax plugs worked fine with my Gerbing Heated Jacket and the WarmNSafe Controller worked fine with them also.
BTW, they appear to be located in Maryland (despite the name) and shipping was pretty quick.
