Previous regulation gave us a time-frame of 6 months to deal with that annual nuisance:
one month prior the 'month of first registration', and up to 4 months grace period, so easy to plan your appointments and get something fixed if required...
Now they're cutting this down to a time-frame of only 4 months,
3 months prior and within the 'month of first registration', and no 'overdraft'... nadda, zero, zilch...
Which means from 2027 on I'll have to drag my two ST1100 to those appointments already in Mach, through ice and snow, to still have sufficient time avail to order spares and fix things,
just in case they again "come up with something" to fail the 'road-worthiness'...
because by June 30th 2400hrs that MOT just expires, with all legal ramifications, like loss of insurance cover, confiscating my license plates, operating a vehicle without a valid registration...
I already wonder how that MOT tester intends to do his "test ride" around the block... they already refuse that when its only raining... make another appointment...
(owners of convertibles, old-timers and historical vehicles are as well absolutely not amused about having to drive there during the winter months...)
Also fun with the trusty Toyota, first registered in February...
So I have to appear there in November (2026) to get my MOT for the next year (2027) done... amazingly efficient... pfffff...
