.... the Michelin SIX Pilot Road / Road Pilot / Submarine Road / Road Pilot / Road / whatever name Dave Duelin wants to call it.
Just for clarity, I think Dave's comment is probably in reference to Michelin dropping "Pilot" from the tire name after the 4. Now it's just called the "Road 5, 6.."

What's in a name?
Rubber and steel and some petrochemicals, I guess.
Fedex notification in email this morning, they've moved the delivery date up, from Wednesday to Tuesday.
Darn. A day early.

Aside from covid related supply chain issues I usually buy tires in the winter / early spring when stock levels are relatively high + I almost always have a spare set on hand to minimise stockout situations.

In the past, I've learned the hard way that tires can be in short supply if you're looking for them mid to late riding season.

@ReSTored I bet you can guess, how many times I've told myself that, through the decades.
I've actually pulled it off, a couple times, and it was quite the non-event.
I suppose, like the irascible Neal Young, "life is more interesting in the ditch."
