I found this compact torque driver written up in a sports magazine and found that it works very well for a compact driver to keep on the bike. It's made by a sports company named DAKINE and I guess it's made for snowboarders or skiers, but its compact form makes it an easy tool to carry on the bike.
The driver comes with 5 attachments and a little 8 & 10mm wrench, all housed inside the handle of the driver. I knew I would have to get a proper size hex bit for it, since the one it came with was too small, so I pulled all the less useful bits out and just kept one phillips head and a correct sized hex head bit. The little wrench, while the correct size, didn't work well on the nuts inside the tip over wing, so I replaced it with a 5/16" nut driver bit, which easily fit inside the handle with the other bits. Like every other ratcheting type of driver, you can set it to lock or ratchet in either direction, so no real surprises there. One of the nicest things about it was the price, a whole $8! Now granted, I did have to add a few bits, but still, that's not a bad price.
I haven't actually used it much yet, since it was more for 'away from home' type of use, but I thought I would give it a write up since it might be the sort of tool someone else is looking for.
I found them at Amazon and a few other places but I purchased mine from these folks, who had the best price with shipping at the time I purchased it.
