I'm both a big guy, and tall. My last 2 pairs of riding pants have been Joe Rocket because they are the only affordable pants that come in both big AND tall sizes (many pants stop their tall sizes at 40 or 42 waist). I used to wear a 2xl Tall, but later had to buy a pair of 3xl Tall. I used those for several years until the zippers gave out. The right leg also had a large burn at the bottom from my KLR's exhaust, otherwise I would have just replaced the zippers.

I spent part of the summer putting money aside for new pants while I browsed lots of sites for pants that come in my size. When I had money saved and hadn't found any other pants in my size, I ordered another pair of Joe Rocket in the same size as my old pants. Well they came in today...and they don't fit. Apparently Joe Rocket must now run much smaller than they used to. These don't even come close to fitting, they are way too tight. Unfortunately they are the largest size Joe Rocket sells that come in Tall, so I have no other options with them.

Thanks a lot Joe Rocket, I guess I'll be saving up for a lot longer so I can afford one of the custom sized suits, like Aerostich. It also means I have no armored riding pants for this fall.

Thats who I got them from. They will be going back tomorrow. I'm upset because they changed their sizing- I purchased the same size I wore, but they now run smaller. I wish one of the other brands chose to offer my size, but that is their choice. I wish I could say that I changed...but I still fit in the pants with the worn out leg zippers, which are 3xlT, the same as what I purchased this time.

Maybe the pair you got had the wrong size on them. Did you check with JR?

Their size chart shows that 3xlT only fit up to a 43" waist, and I'm a 44"+. I purchased them hoping the size chart was off (since my last pair of that size from them fit), but apparently the chart is on, and they just changed their sizing. No complaints with Motorcyclegear.com, just that JR chose to change their sizing.

Jim - We share a similiar 'waste' size :D - I use FirstGear HT Air 2.0 Overpants - Black, Size 44 but my inseam is around 32". (Since my knee replacement I have porked up a bit but they still fit). You might want to take a look at their stuff.

I get by without Talls on pants but you're right, the marked size of many of these pants means nothing to me. I wear a 42 or 44 (depending) and I think my Joe Rocket pants are either 4XL or 5XL. I'm a medium at Walmart. :rofl1: :rofl1:

I was on Joe Rocket's site today and found a $500 jacket. Wonder if it's any good?

Maybe you should contact Joe Rocket and see if their sizing has changed. It would not be the first time a garment got the wrong tag sewn or stamped on.

They state the size and it sounds like they were correct.

One never knows if they will run big, spot on or small. One negative thing about online ordering.

I'll be contacting them to see whats up. I'm not angry with anyone- just unhappy that the size I always wore no longer fits. I'll contact them to see if its a mistake...if its not, I'll voice my displeasure, and that will be the end of it. They have the right to adjust their sizing as they see fit. If they choose to make it so old customers can no longer buy their products...that is their choice...and their loss. I take the responsibility that I purchased them assuming that their stated size chart was wrong, since I have worn their pants in this size before.
