I move this changer from shed shop depending on the weather. It was mounted on a basic cross and I used tire levers because their demounting bar didn’t work so well.
I also dealt with the bead breaker scratching rims.
I have a No Mar bar on the way that would work better if the changer is hard mounted on the floor. Not happening.
So…

Yeah they do work better when they are mounted to the floor.

This was my first one I bought of a fellow member. I had a concrete pad on the side yard, which helped a lot.

But that's not always possible.

But we moved and I bought this one, and I haven't decided where I want it mounted.

I've done a couple tire changes with it and it works pretty good. but it would work a lot better if I had it bolted down.
Note the 4x4s.

I mounted my NoMar, using four, 1/2” threaded anchors in the concrete floor of the garage. If I’m not using it, I unbolt the changer and lean it up, in the corner. The screw anchors are flush with the floor, so no floor space is lost.

Wow I like that tool, nice.. so this is a first time glimpse into tire self service. If I were younger. Appears common concern is losing effectiveness if not secured to floor, makes sense.. first thing comes to mind is with a couple boards and a suitable hydraulic jack and pin the thing from the ceiling..
However, I should know better to say things when I first learn about something, but I don’t… know better 😂

I have a friend who bought a No-Mar to change tires on his then half dozen or so bikes. He drilled holes in his garage floor and sunk threaded anchors in the holes. Whenever he needs the machine, he pulls it off his wall (where it is stored), runs bolts through the base into his anchors, a quick tighten with a wrench and he is ready to go. After his tire session, he breaks the machine down again for storage.

Got the No-Mar with the receiver mount to go in the hitch of my truck. Works out well, and portable.

That's what @Byron had. He changed about 30 sets of tires for me, before he moved out to Kentucky. Why I wound up with my first NoMar.
