Flushing clutch fluid and can't remove all air, looking for advice...

DOT 4 was new unused but been on the shelf for years so used a newly bought bottle.
Conventional wisdom, and info from the manufacturers say an unopened bottle of brake fluid lasts 'forever', but once opened its shelf life is 6 months. I've seen plastic bottles in auto parts stores (of Dot 3 &4) with dust on them that look like something has evaporated out, collapsing the bottle. These are the bottles at the back of the shelf while new ones - same brand - in front are fully filled.

What you did was probably a smart move.

Ya I just wanted to eliminate all variables. The fluid had been opened several years ago so my thoughts the viscosity had been compromised(don't know if that's possible).I had also done a couple vacuums with pump (as I'd done previously),opened Speed Bleeder,4-5 strokes, close bleeder, pump lever, open bleeder,4-5 more vacuum pumps, closed bleeder, pumped lever and had pressure pretty quick. Then just a couple for traditional, pump lever/open-close bleeder to be sure..
Lesson learned.Don't fully empty fluid in system unless you have to.:rolleyes-2x:
