Does anyone know of an instructional video or step by step instructions on how install the g2 throttle tamer on the St1300?
Hi Ken:
Here's a direct link to the article that Larry (
@Igofar ) referred to in his post above:
I took advantage of the group buy of the G2 Tamer Throttle Tube for the ST1300 I just got this in the mail last night, here are some pics of the tube: G2 Tamer Throttle Tube Install Steps Step 1 Remove Bar End Weights - This pic is showing me removing the clutch side but but I was also...

Some suggestions for you, based on my experience installing one on my ST 1300:
1) Get a small tube of "Motorcycle Handgrip Glue" ahead of time. This is a specialty adhesive that you will need to ensure a solid bond between your rubber handgrip (heated or non-heated) and the ThrottleTamer. Don't substitute other adhesives you might have around the house.
2) If your handgrip is anything other than OEM non-heated, test-fit it (no glue, but maybe with some soapy water as a lubricant) onto the ThrottleTamer before you install the ThrottleTamer. It's no fun to discover that a handgrip won't fit, but it is less stressful if you discover this before you have installed the ThrottleTamer.
3) Be sure to allow the Honda-specified amount of slack (backlash) in the throttle cables. Honda specifies 2 to 6 mm (1/16th to 1/4 of an inch) of backlash in the throttle cables (see page 1-6 of the Service Manual). My experience is that everything feels best and works best if you are right in the middle of that range (4 mm or 1/8th of an inch). Whatever you do, don't over-tighten (meaning, don't get ride of the slop (backlash) between applying throttle and reducing throttle.
4) If, when you have finished the installation, the throttle action is not perfectly smooth - by this I mean the physical twisting of the throttle, not the engine response), you might need to go in under the airbox and check for the "other ends" of the throttle cables fouling on something such as electrical cables, coolant hoses, vacuum hoses, etc.
