While I’m still commuting on my ST, I’ve decided to part ways with her once I can narrow-down a replacement. I’m not even sure if anyone would be interested so I’ll be completely honest, and go from there. I picked-up my burgundy ST from the original owner in October ‘17 with 1700 miles. It’s been my daily commuter, road tripper, and occasional camping companion ever since.
Issues:
- 26 knock sensor code. I’ve replaced the sensor, and the code persists intermittently.
- While changing the water pump shaft seals due to a coolant leak, I replaced the clutch with aftermarket parts. As a result, the bike slams loudly into gear from neutral, and the clutch drags. The problem decreases as the bike warms, but never fully goes away. Oh, and there is still a slight coolant leak from the seals.
- It needs tires. Like, now.
On the plus side:
- Never been down.
- Bone stock, but I’ve replaced the windscreen, added Oxford grips, a 1.5” bar riser, LED headlights, and a givi top box.
- Oil every 3-3.5k miles.
Photos to come.
