Anyone up for a ride to Heather Meadows this Friday? Weather looks good. They got some snow over the weekend, but I'm hoping the roads are bare and dry.
Heather Meadows is the location of the Mt. Baker Ski area. If you've never been up there, the Mt. Baker Hwy, Hwy 542 starts off in the lowlands passing through grazing pastures and some trees. The sweepers are fast and fun. As the road gains elevation, the sweepers get tighter with a couple of turns being technical. The speed limit through those tight turns gets down to 15 mph. I can honestly say I have not exceeded the speed limit through those places.
