Since 1949 the Honda Motor Co has achieved 500 million motorcycles sold worldwide. I got my start with a 50cc Z50 MiniTrail in 1970. In a press release Toshihiro Mibe, company president and CEO, noting this achievement said motorcycles are still its core business although products include cars, ATVs, the HondaJet, marine engines, robotics, lawn & garden equipment and commercial engines for a multitude of uses. The company has come a long way from the 1949 Dream D Type. This commercial is 15 years old but captures well the headlong rush Sochiro Honda birthed in 1948 making piston rings for Toyoda.

I had the pleasure of visiting Honda corporate headquarters while on business in Tokyo in 2015.

Sat in a car that could fit in my cubicle.

And to top it off a, then current, CB400 Super Four, the great, great, great, great grandchild of the CB400F Super Sport in the garage. :)

I've owned seven Hondas and loved every one of 'em.

Congratulations Honda Motors on maintaining Soichiro's dream.
