honda st1300 upper fuel tank rear damper set placement

Hi Folks. New to ST posting, been skulking around here since acquiring a 2004 last summer. Doing winter work and repairs requiring upper fuel tank lifting and can find no good imaging for placement of the above dampers as they were on the floor an instant after the tank began its swing. Any help getting these two rubber nubs back where they should be is appreciated. Cheers.

Which parts are you referring to? Possibly #18, the short collars that go under the front tank mounting bolts? Didn't really see any other bumpers, so please let us know what you're asking about!

EDIT: Just reread and you referenced REAR DAMPER...so maybe #9s or #4s?

Since it's a 2004 and new to you, when lifting the tank be sure to inspect the fuel hose, #8 in the pic above, as if they get a stress crack and could result in a fire.

Thanks Gus - It's these ones - #4 in the image, 2 rubber chunks. And to answer Mellow, the lines, etc., are all good - no fuel leaks or brittle hoses.

They go sort of locate where they appear in the diagram, they fit on the bottom edge of the gas tank just before where the tank curves up towards the front of the tank.

Just a note, I've had my tank off several times and have found that it's easier for me to get that large hose and its associated clamp onto the lower tank second than it is to try to reach in under the lifted upper tank and try to do it in that little space after its been connected to the reserve tank first. Even if I have to remove the tank/seat bracket, that large hose doesn't tend to get bent as much when connecting it to the reserve tank last as opposed to first. Just make sure you've drained the fuel down to below the main tank level, usually two flashing bars or less and it will all be in the lower tank, so no big rush of fuel when either end of the large hose is disconnected. YMMV!

Oh, and those bumper parts are long gone on mine...everything is still fine.
