What do you make of this?
I’ve seen under a few throttle bodies and nothing like this caught my attention.
95,700 mile 2006.
Wiring sheath shriveled.
I wonder if the combination of being in the valley and run against the alternator is too much.
Does an alternator put out much heat?IMG_0142.jpeg
Is it normal, no problem.
I am thinking about extending the wiring away from the side.

Take the time to replace or repair the wiring. Most of the connectors are crimp connectors that loosen with. Generally when the wiring shows heat damage it worsens over time. If the heat is externally caused you don't want the insulation cracking and exposing wires to possible shorts or contamination into the wire.
Most of the time the connectors are where a overload shows up, External heat will show up elsewhere along the wire or cable. Yours looks like external heat drying out and causing shrinkage. Age with heat has a lot to do with this also. Which will raise the resistance too.
I have owned a bunch of old vehicles and repaired a bunch of wire harnesses, and replaced a bunch too. pull iy out and lay it on the bench. Time to get friendly with it

There is a big difference between shriveled wiring protective sheath and shriveled wiring insulation. In your photo I only see shriveled wiring sheath, big deal. What does the wiring look like? If the wire shows heat damage you need to investigate, if it doesn't, ride on.
