Shoei

I say it 'shway' but I have heard it as 'shoo-ee'. Is there a preferred pronounciation from the company?

(as if this was really important)

gonzo (pronounced: 'gonz-oh'.

I say show'-ee

A friend says shoo'-ee.

And I'll get to Scotland before ye.

i say shoo-ee. never heard anyone say shway, though. that's probably the correct pronunciation. :)

I say Show-ee.

Pop the company an e-mail. You might actually get a response.

It is not Shoe-e it is Show-e.

I know this because in their booth at about 10 different AMA races I heard the question asked and answered.

Plus my wife sponsored an AMA Supercross team for a year and Shoei made a custom helmet for them. When the guy from the company presented the helmet, that is the way he pronounced his own company's name about 20 or so times.

Show-e

Well, I guess that answers that question...

Yes, I was one of the first ones to have it on my site because I happened to know the people who actually created it. I also had a few conversations with Arai's lawyers, and eventually took it down.

:th1:
Details?!? I must have missed this one but now you have me wondering what its all about.

I don't know why but I always think of Shoney's restaurant when I see the name of that helmet. I have to think not to say Shoney when talking helmets.
Sorry,
Dave
