G'Day...

10°/19°C @ 80% RH today, partially cloudy, meteoroliars predict heavy rain for evening and night though... 🌦️ 🌧️

ze GF zoomed to the office...
me still at her place, enjoying my cuppas... ☕ ☕

picked up the trusty Toyota yesterday, revived battery (which was completely down), studded tires on, quick pre-flights...
gonna have to leave here by 0900, as parking fees start to ramp up then...
drop off an ST1100 wind-screen at the post office, sold on eBay...

afternoon likely in the shed, that gal with her Suzuki cruiser is threaten with intend of another visit/job-order...
swapping the (manual) fuel-petcock, having another look at the fuel gauge... plus now the charging system seems to act up as well...
Yeah, also over here workshops won't take older motorcycles anymore... or only at astronomical rates...

Yeah, and after Gmail and my bank, also Booking.com is now demanding me getting a new phone... pfffff...
Dunno what's their problem, its running perfectly fine since Nov 2020... (that's why I got me an "expensive" phone in the first place...)
Finally caved and used my bonus points to place an order for a SAMSUNG GALAXY XCOVER7 EE for € 67,- (with some hidden fees € 105,- total...)
Hope that'll serve another 10 years now...

we made it halfway through the week that qualifies for a (small) celebration... ☕

Thx Martin, and good luck with your new phone, nice price!!
Hope it last as long as the old one.
26 phone years must be like 250 human years.

Had Peter on a sleepover, and drove him to school this morning.
Picking him up later.

11˚c52f, 10mph breeze from east, quite nice.

Have a good one!
Stu

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the wake-up jolt Martin. The trouble is, I was already wide awake.

It's 44°F and clear in Rockville. In another two-plus hours the sun will rise (I presume) and it'll be daylight once again. We'll top out at a pleasant-enough 65.

Late day goof (just nine holes) is the primary agenda item. For various reasons I've not done much uke playing in several days; perhaps today could change that. We'll see.

I've been living with / fighting a low-level malady for a week- runny nose, slightly sore throat, general minor achiness and malaise. It could be a cold, it could be covid, it could be allergies. They each affect me in similar ways. Whatever the case, it's done away with my ambition to be active. I'd try sleeping it off but can't even manage that.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

So you spotted the typo... ;)
Still, six years ain't much of an age for decent $$$ hardware... I own a few pairs of Jeans older than that...

Soon they'll shut off your car after 24 or 36 months usage, since you just ought to by a new one...
(fortunately the '96 Toyota is free of any preprogrammed obsolescence... it doesn't collect, it doesn't store, it just drives...)

Or your 3~4 year old house heater suffers a sudden, mysterious 'death'...

Martin comes through again... thanks for that coffee.
I smashed the Snooze only half as long as yesterday, so maybe today will be 30 minutes longer...?
Slight warming trend -- it was 51 this morning, which is too cold for my liking, but sounds better and feels better than the 40s of late.
At the end of the month, I will do the 9-day MSF RiderCoach prep class to be a coach again, and it's going to be tough but fun. I still remember most of it, and I picked up the materials yesterday, and my two pre-course assignments.
Due to the intensive volume of burger-joint service calls a couple of years ago, I was unable to coach, and my certification expired after two years.
Looking forward to helping new riders get on bikes again.
The obsolescence factor intrudes into so many aspects of our lives, which is why I like my old Honda Element and my slightly-younger ST1300.
Some days I feel nearly obsolete myself, particularly when American culture appears to want to change the values and systems I grew up with.
But I know I'm not the only one who feels this way.
Maybe I'm like the old Honda ST1300, with no electronic suspension, no radar-assisted cruise control, no lane change proximity warnings, no variable ride modes, no throttle by wire... just old-school riding skills and using my own judgement based on decades of riding experience to keep us away from car bumpers and ditches and guard rails.
Rather simple, mostly reliable, but still tons of fun.
Call me a throwback, curmudgeon, and old fashioned.
I'm good with that.
Like y'all, I have seen a lot of changes in my life.
And change is not always for the better.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's clear and 43, rising to 57 while becoming partly cloudy and windy.

Yesterdays track night went off well, although we barely got into the night.
Brenda was off bowling when I got home, but she left me a Ramen noodle casserole.

That was the last track event until NEXT Wednesday, so I'll enjoy the down-time.

Today's plan is to hit the gym, and then onto whatever else. Petco has been on the list for a while...

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Well at least it's not going to be a Dry Hump Day!

Morning all! Sunny blue sky day again today but chilly at 4C. They claim it will be 19C for the ride home but I have my doubts.

The local constabulary were out with radar guns this morning on the main road into town. Thankfully I was behind a bit of a slowpoke fuming when we passed them. I retracted said fume and gave the slowpoke a mental apology and thanks. Then a bit further on was another gendarme sitting on his V-Strom 1000. Guess it was muscle flexing day.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning Martin & All from not too sunny, Southern Utah!

In fact it's a bit wet! Yep, the Weather Guessers were correct, and so far we have gotten 0.25" of that wetstuff. And more looks like it's on it's way. And it just started up again.

Currently it is 57F, up from 49F and heading for 62F. Not even any of a breeze at this time, which surprises me. But later, we'll see the winds out of the SSE @ 15 to 18mph.

I'm glad I got the lawn mowed yesterday. There's no way I would of today and with trash going out tonight, at least the cut grass doesn't stay in the trash can too long. I also added some braces to my Tacoma, I have read where adding a shell to the beds, are causing cracks in the beds, since they are not metal, but some sort of plastic. So I bought these braces the fit at the back of the bed and help support the walls of the bed.

I got a call from Chris last night. She's doing okay, although she was on her feet too long and her back was killing her. Also, a bunch of them were out buying more material. And she complains about my motorcycle parts! LOL

I'm not sure what project I might do today. With the rain, it won't be an outside one. Might be a good day to change the oil in my :dr13: :unsure-2x:

Eggs, bacon, toast, OJ & Lemon Tea for the morning start. Pepsi scheduled for lunchtime!

Anyone :bk13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:
