I need help in figuring out why.. everything was good for about 3-4 days and now it is so stiff if I let go of throttle it will not roll off.. Any suggestions on remedies to fix this, a guy at work suggested putting vaseline between throttle tube and handlebar..

You've got some interference somewhere, likely at either end of the grip. It may have to be pulled back (out) a bit or check at the bar end (may need a bar end spacer).

I didn't have a grip issue, but throttle wouldn't return either. Turned out to be the throttle cables needed lubed. I opened, a little bit, the unit with the kill switch and starter buttons are located and shot some cable lube into the throttle cables. Worked it back forth several times and the throttle came back to life. Operates very smoothly and returns as it should.
If your grip is rubbing against that unit, you may need to trim off a little to make it work. Vaseline would probably only be very temporary fix and you risk being in an unsafe condition.

The throttle was fine before you changed grips and became hard to turn a few days afterwards? I'd check to see if the inside edge is rubbing against the control housing. If not disconnect the cables and remove the grip assembly and look to see if any glue got somewhere it shouldn't have assuming you used some kind of glue when you put the new grip on.

With the assembly removed I'd check the handlebar and inside the throttle tube. With the assembly off the bars does the throttle turn ok? Check the cables for adjustment and to see if any glue (if you used it) got inside the housing.

Were you able to find out the cause and get it fixed?

A little late, but here goes. My throttle was lazy at returning to the closed position. First I greased the end of the grip where it meets the bar end weight. Seemed to help, but not enough. So a friend machined the bar end weight about a 16th of an inch to help clear the throttle grip. Works good now. If you need pics, let me know.

Pulled the grip and throttle tube off and under throttle tube and around end of it was clumps of old glue, also found it around cables and cleaned it all out now all is good....at least for now....

That's good. It's not a good feeling to release the throttle and no deceleration is happening.

FWIW........best grip glue in existance since the late 60's and still today......WhiteRain or AquaNet hair-spray, and it doesn't end up where its not supposed to;). Tis a known old motcrossers trick still used today:D:).
