So I offended Google's AI search algorithm today, which I didn't know was possible.

I was trying to find an actor that I recognized from a tv show clip, but couldn't place what show he'd been on. All I had was his line "yo crackhead, what you going to do steal it and try to sell it back to me," which is what I typed in the search engine.

Well I guess the AI though I was calling it a crackhead and basically refused to provide me with any information because of my language and tone. It did respond with a fairly scathing reply about my language etc.

I was some glad I was using Google's AI and not our work's O365 integrated one. Guess I didn't know how fragile LLM's feelings are. Gee-PT, I'm sorry. :rofl1:

Once I prompted correctly with "what TV show actor said the line "yo crackhead, what you going to do steal it and try to sell it back to me,"" it gave me the answer I wanted. Crackhead indeed.

Anyway, it made me laugh. (and maybe I hit a little close to the bone of Google's business model??)

Anyone else have any fun AI interactions they want to share? I promise not to be easily offended.

I recently did a search for Albertson, North Carolina. This is what AI responded with:

"AI Overview

Albertsons generally does not operate stores in North Carolina; their locations are concentrated in Western states like Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington, and Wyoming, so you'd likely find other chains like Publix, Harris Teeter, or Food Lion in NC. While Albertsons has big markets in other regions, they've sold off many stores in other areas, focusing on their core Western markets, meaning you won't find a typical Albertsons grocery store in North Carolina."

If AI is not smart enough to tell the difference between "Albertson" and "Albertson's" I'm not going to trust anything AI generates.

"Albertson is a serene township located in the northeastern part of Duplin County, North Carolina." which is what I was searching for.

I just looked at a report from an AI program that said a certain fired brass cartridge case was made in 1918 and used during Vietnam. I find that highly unlikely bordering on impossible— even if there was some rifle, machine gun or cannon that had a 50+ year service life, I’ll bet the ammunition from the World War I era would have been decommissioned / scrapped / sold as surplus before the Vietnam War.

I remember that. Or I think it's the same show — The Wire. That was Marlo played by Jamie Hector. He more recently played Jerry Edgar/J. Edgar on Bosch and Bosch: Legacy.

I was at a family gathering years ago, and one of my sisters was using Siri on her iPhone.
I had never used Siri.
I asked it some question, can't even recall the question, and Siri couldn't get it. Kept telling me, "I'm sorry, I don't understand."
Maybe 4 or 5 times, and it was a simple question.
In frustration, I told it "That's because you're a mindless, stupid, useless Apple piece of crap!"
Long pause...
Siri said, "That's ok. I'm still here for you."
My sisters howled in amusement.
I never got my answer...

You think you have problems....

Please note that some of the language used here may offend and is not a reflection of the person posting the content!

Honest.....

If the round was a 50 BMG, you might lose that bet. Invented in the late 1910s went into US Army service in 1921. It's still in service today in the M2 Browning (ma deuce) and most of the guns are from WW2. It's also made for civilian use, but at $11 a round, it's a connoisseur's weapon. Too rich for my blood and too powerful for my range.

I have and load a 50BMG my cost to load is around $7.00 but you can get that cost down by maybe half if you use surplus components but you lose accuracy.
