"week divider"? You could've just said the German word for Wednesday, and arguably the most straightforward word for this day of the week. "Mittwoch" literally mid-week.
So we made it through the "want to resign Wednesday"...
Now just "Testing-my-patience-Thursday" and "Fully-checked-out-Friday" to go... :coffee:

G'Day...

1°/11°C and mostly sunny today... some shaded areas still had frost in the morning, all running off now... 💦

Home Nespresso absorbed... ☕
still sipping on my office Nescafé... ☕
respect the bean! 😎

Spent € 370,- last night... ordering new 'summer-loafers' for the trusty Toyota... Bridgestone Ecopia EP150...
Sure, some "Ling-Longs" would have come for about € 40,- a piece,
but then I could as well just kept the 10(!) year old current set of Bridgestone Turanza...
which likely would still be more reliable on wet roads then those Chinese thingies flooding the market... 🤔
Nah, whilst many wouldn't even notice a difference (until they fly off the road), I'll prefer the added safety... :tire1:

So, work calls...
Enjoy Jupiter's Day...

Morning all, and thanks Martin for more thread titles I don't understand. :rofl1:

We received another 5-10 last night, and I'm sure I'll regret not dealing with it this morning, as this afternoon it'll pop up to +4 and rain, before dropping to freezing again overnight. The driveway and whatnot will be a dangerous icy mess again. I'm done with complaining about Winter. I can't wait for Summer so I can complain about the heat and bugs and lawn mowing again!

The weather is soooo confusing right now. In fact, if I had a nickel for every time I got confused, I'd be like "where'd this nickel come from?" so there'd be another nickel, and I'd think "what's with all the nickels?" leading to more nickels and confusion until eventually I'd be slowly crushed by nickels without ever knowing why.

That's my two cents st least.

Obo.

Google your friend is... yoda_star_wars_icon_131348_small.png

Stumbled over ancient Roman's "Jupiter's Day" while searching a synonym for Thursday, and thought ' that'll serve well to keep you guys on your toes '... 😁
Besides over here the state's curriculum is now cutting down Latin at the schools, to replace it with... <drum-roll> ... AI as the new teaching subject... great, eh? 🙄

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

It's gray and 36°F as light from the impending sunrise filters dimply through solid overcast above Rockville. There's a chance of light rain, but nothing to be concerned over, from about 1400 until 1800 hours or so. The high will be about 44. Good enough for the last gasps of February.

I’m in the market for new summer tires to my Rav4,

When I re-shod my CR-V a couple years back the tire dealer recommended the Kumho brand, which he said was the stock tire on RAV-4s. They've been very steady performers for me and I'm happy with them, FWIW.

Thursday is uke day, so that'll dominate the schedule.

When I reported in yesterday I had forgotten that we were due to attend the birthday party for the Emperor of Japan, held as always (and as all the other Embassy-sponsored social occasions and events) at the official Ambassador's Residence in DC. Although the man himself was absent, he bought me dinner: good sushi, excellent waygu beef, and a nice glass of Suntory whiskey. Thanks, Your Imperial Highness, much appreciated. Drop by when you're in town and I'll reciprocate with a couple homemade pizzas, my specialty.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's sunny and 20, rising to 40 later.

I found out that they were having a high school race event at the ski area, yesterday, which would account for the lack of parking in the main lot.

I'll try again, today, and also try to get there a bit earlier.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Latin is a dead language,
Rolling in the dust.
First it killed the Romans,
Now it's killing us.
psst, don't let the ancients hear that, or they'll push a pilum through your sternum...

Dunno if Latin is such a "dead" language... many, many technical terms, also in automotive & motorsickles, rooting in Latin or Greek... and that is what they should teach at schools...

Meh, I doubt that it was Latin that killed the Romans, although I do see signs that reinventing language is damaging our American culture.
As this is still my first cup, AND the fact I don't wanna be put in ST-timeout, I'll just leave that right there... sorry 'bout that.
But meanwhile, it's a warmish, wettish 60 degrees now, looking at 70 later... with rain most of the day, so Kaiser stays home.
And as I'll need extra clothes and extra time to stay dry on my way to work, I should get going.
And so I will.
Thanks for the coffee and conversation, y'all.
For those battling snow, drifts, and I've on the roads, I will speculate this won't last forever.
But what do I know?
I'm no groundhog.

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the coffee, Martin.

54/64, mostly cloudy with chance of sprinkles. Garage clean out today.

Now to cheer everyone up, I’ll post my tire prices to let you know how good of a deal you got.

Falken Wildpeak AT/4 for $470……That’s each. $1880 for the set, before 9.75% tax + mounting and road hazard coverage.

Ride safe
John

Good morning all!
Thanks for today’s offering, Martin!
John, it’s good to see you posting! That’s about what I paid for 4 tires for the Tundra.
I’m wasting away here in Florida, but the clock is ticking! I’ll be leaving here on the 18th, with numerous stops on my way north.
Presently 58/80F - 16/26C, sunny, with beads of sweat thrown in. (for those dealing with all that snow)
Enjoy your day!
WB

It's my fault. I'll take the heat for your suffering. It's the old adage that I failed miserably: "TIs better to be thought a fool and keep your mouth shut than open it and remove all doubt." This fool will collect his cup of coffee and slink back to the corner behind laptop screens of *cough* important work. Thanks, Martin!

Yet another gloomy morning here in SoMD, 38F/3C. If there was a term for the blur between winter and spring, it escapes me but it seems were are within that broad blur. The gray skies certainly fit. Not quite warm yet but still threats of snow. Even the insects aren't sure whether it's time to emerge and start their terror campaign. *sigh* I'll just close the blinds and have another cup...try again in a month.

On the (figuratively) bright side, I saved another 3 hours of my life by not having to commute to work. Thankful for that! So, besides the usual toiling at a computer screen that we helluva-engineers do, I may break to get some other bits done around the house and garage since they're expecting a light rain sometime now or other. Who cares, I'm safely caffeinated.

Medical terms are replete with Latin, and it is highly annoying when they use waaaay more verbiage to describe an ailment or disease than (what I deem) necessary. C'mon, dumb it down for us...I'm an engineer, not a doctor!

Take care y'all!

Good morning all you… people.. on here… definitely with caffeine problems and idioms about foreign.. well.. anything really, thanks for the coffee!

Today’s weather is yesterdays carbon copy,
Perfect blue sky, no cloud, heaven.
Most of you, while shivering, are Pffffttt-ing the heck out of this, what can I say? I got nothing to do with it. 🤣

Latin, I remember sitting thru catholic masses, in Latin. There’s a reason English is English, I understand it best, so… there.

Daytona bike week starts this Friday, looks like rain for that start.. seems like some of you might be traversing that territory soon. If so, Godspeed and grace..

FYI; My place is always open to STers in here.
With garage, lift and tools as needed, emergencies welcome! Think Jacksonville, Fl
If your road stuck local, and running out of options.. I might not fix it, but I’ll get you a nonvr cup of java! lol Seriously.

Volcanoes don’t seem to be letting up, can’t tell which will be first, hot lava or war footing.

WFH is the bomb, where else can you conf call in yer skivvies! Enjoy it while you have it, clothes maint., fuel saving, lunchtime, it saves money all around and definitely shortlived for mainstream. I wfh everyday!!!

Today I want to finish or get close to my 2nd set of brake/turn/running set, down low, midway. I have mockup, gotta wire up and yes, u bet I’ll talk more about this.

Ok, that’s all I got.

Everyone take care and the world is telling us.. note your priorities and station in it, because all you have, are those that care, as said many times before, show those you care, that you do, actions will always outdo words.

Morning all! Some cloud here, some blue sky there, with a bit of sun as well. I also have the pleasure of a rainbow right outside of my office window. 7C now, 11C later.

I don't know that y'all want me getting going on latin...res ipsa loquitur.

Don't you guys get tired of all these treads on tires?

Obo, sounds like you've got a lot of nickels on your plate.

I'll stop now. Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning Martin & All, from a mostly sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 55F, up from 38F and heading for 63F. What a difference a week makes! Last Wednesday!

All that white stuff is now gone and only the mud is left to remind us that it was here! LOL

The winds are already blowing from the NNW @ 6 and later, they will be coming from the the N @ 8 to 10mph.

As for AI, it's OVERRATED! After spending my last 40 years, of my 50 years of a computer career, in software development, it's still written by humans, that means it's not perfect, which means it only takes one little booboo to set you 180 degrees in the wrong direction! :unsure-2x:

I crawled under the Tacoma and cleaned up that oil mess. I still need to take it out and see if it's actually leaking or it was just the mess, the kid left after changing the oil! And after doing that, I'm reminded why I don't do my own oil changes on the four tired vehicles. It took me most of the day to get back to where I wasn't lightheaded. o_O

I need to go get the Highlander washed. Chris got a few coupons from her niece for free washes, so I'll use one of those! :)

I still want to get out on the :dr13: or :bl13:. We'll see how it goes this afternoon.

Eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) for later.

Anyone :bk13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Good Afternoon, thought I had checked in earlier, no ,got distracted by YouTube and breakfast and usual stuff. So got water,a hair cut and some groceries. 9 C with a 29 mph wind from SSW. Good day to practice cross wind riding. Well not much else on my mind, but to say have a good day G

You might consider adding your name to the RAN (Rider's Assistance Network) list, if it's not already there. That's exactly the sort of offer that makes the list so valuable.
