Had noticed a minor leak in one of my forks over winter. Got the tool for cleaning the fork seals, used it and the fork no longer seems to leak. Is there a way to top up the fork oil without removing the forks ? Thanks.
Sure, throw me under the busThere are ways to do it but as a purest, I like to remove, check and replace things.
You haven't said when the fork's internals were checked last (not a criticism) so hard to say what other issues the bike may have.
@Igofar - Larry, what's your opinion on the subject?
hit or missHave a minor leak, just noticed it, thinking of trying Seal Mate to clean the seals. What do yo think?
The Seal Mate tool has worked well for me to stop a minor weep. In order of magnitude are weeps, seeps, and leaks. A weep is barely a wet spot on the fork tube and it would be near impossible to measure the loss. Maybe that of a few drops. The sky is not falling and you have nothing to lose by trying to clean out the seal. Both the 2006 Goldwing I had and my BMW RT have gone tens of thousands of miles after cleaning a seal without the weep reappearing.Have a minor leak, just noticed it, thinking of trying Seal Mate to clean the seals.
