Is the classic sport-touring motorcycle doomed to extinction?

Back to the subject, I can only imagine the naked and exposed skin riders haven't had a personal, intimate encounter with the roadway yet. If / when they ever do, they'll either quit riding or put more clothes on.

FWIW, at least from me, nothing was taken in a negative way. And personally, I prefer outspoken, straight-forward, no punches pulled dialog. I keep it toned down on my end since no one really knows me, and I don't want to offend anyone unintentionally. I was a Supermoderator for many years on a very prolific forum, and I have elephant skin as a result. On the rare occasions I get butt-hurt, my social aikido is blackbelt level, lol. Bottom line, please say what you want in the manner you want unapologetically... that's the way things should be IMO.

For my loved ones, I tend to be a bit of a GearNazi, if only because I've been through the school of hard knocks more than I should have. And I try not to get too preachy about riders who don't share my views on rider protection. But I generally don't ride with those who don't wear at least minimal gear. I've been around too many bad getoffs, and my stomach is no longer what it used to be.
 
I'll confess to having snuck up the right shoulder on several occasions when traffic has been hideously backed up and crawling along. Partly due to impatience but also partly due to fear of being tagged from behind (even though I keep an eye out and try to have an exit strategy). I expect I may pay a price in the form of either a ticket, abuse or injury.

Checking back is good but still no guarantee.
I don't know about Canada. When near Montreal the traffic stopped for some time, so I started to move up front. Got some verbal abuse which I'd not get in NJ and definitely in NYC. It looks like up north in Canada the frostbites in the head lasting for too long. lol
