Mornings, your coffee is ready for pickup!
And brown bread with either shrimpsalad or pickled herring in sweet tomato sause.
And Pepsis, for those in need.

Yesterday we took care of Peter all day.
Some kind of virus have kept him from school for two weeks now.
Since both his parents are doctors, I will have to assume it’s under control….hmmmmm.

Had a quite late appointment in the city to have a MRI of my knees…will have the result in ten days or so.
My appointment was at 19:12 (!!!).
Must be some swedes running the company.

Today is wide open.
A beer in the afternoon perhaps.

10˚c/50f for the high, overcast and calm.
Night time frost have initiated the salting of the roads, my ST has been put into hibernation, pffffffft!

Have a most delightful Saturday!
Stu

Yesterday Ray sent us these clouds

There's always somebody who insists their coffee has to be freshly ground,
ethically sourced, and brewed at a precise temperature.
Then they dump half a bottle of flavored creamer into it...
I'm sure those rare beans appreciate the effort... :coffee:

G'Day...

-2°/9°C, 77% RH, noticeable winds with 14kph, haze, bright sunshine... ☀️

multiple Nespresso loads... ☕

nothing special planned, except ze GF now actually plans to take two hikes this weekend... 🤔🥾

BTW surprises... life is always full of them:

last week I always noticed a tiny whiff of sewer smell whenever passing the basement stairway...
went down to investigate, came up with nothing, new house, modern PVC piping, all top...

the next day it had intensified to decomp...
no way that there is a dead rat, concrete walls and ceiling... maybe something in the ST parts boxes? 🤔
went down, nada, nothing, no stench... there is no vermin in the entire house... neither dead nor alive...
upon coming back up it hit me... literally... 🤢

Yeah, ze GF with her favor of strong cheeses has left the wrapping and some crust in the (nearly empty) kitchen trash-can... 😆
Carefully opened the lid (ugh), sealed the liner-bag with a knot and disposed the offender in the wheelie bin outside... 🧀

hazmat-suit-CBRN.webp

And later the neighbor's daughter regarded me with an incredulous stare for hauling two leaf rakes across the property...
Well kiddo, wanna learn something?
Raked a pile with one, then grabbed it with both and dropped it into the bin... there... Edward Scissorhands... ⚒️
and: not a single leaf left in the grass without hurting my knees or back... ;)

OK, ze GF is getting serious and intents to drag me ~6km through the nearby riparian forest in the afternoon... welp! 😟

enjoy the Saturday 😎

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the coffee, Stu. I hoe Peter shakes off the virus soon.

It's 47°F and clear in Rockville but feels like just 33 thanks to a 10 mph NW breeze. The high temperature expected today, 56, is closer to yesterday's low than to yesterday's high.

Yesterday's meetup and bike ride with a woman I met on my Iowa bike trip last July went very well. It was a beautiful day, easy riding, and good company. Then after a brief return to the house to shower, change, and feed the cat it was off to dinner with my cousin, who's in DC for a conference. We chatted for about 3 1/2 hours.

Today's "plan" is to maybe do some laundry, possibly putter around the house, and basically chillax.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, all. Thanks for the coffee Stu, but I’ll pass on the pickled herring. I’m not sure how well it goes with coffee.

36, feels like 31, with a high of 55.

The sun didn’t come out yesterday, so nothing got mowed. Maybe today.

Last night on the dog walk, Teddy alerted to something under the metal fire pit. The fire pit sits on 4” legs, and of course has grass growing under it, which makes a great nesting spot for a large 9-Banded Armadillo. We let him stay, but I’ll check during the daylight to see if it’s going to burrow there. Not wise, since it’s now fire pit weather.

Good morning and thanks for the coffee start, Stu.
Hopefully, Peter shakes whatever is bugging him.

It's cloudy and 56 this morning, rising to 58, later.
It looks like most of the rain is over .

Yesterday was busy, and no gym visit happened.
Our grandson kept us busy , instead.
His mom dropped him off around 10:00am, and we were playing with him all day.
We have some toys for him, but nowhere near the amount at his home.
The three cats disappeared as soon as he walked in the door, and didn't reappear until he went to bed at 8:00pm.

Right now , we're enjoying the quiet , before he wakes.
We'll try to get outside today, once the yard dries a bit, and the playground is down the street.
We'll try not to let him OD on Bluey, Paw Patrol and such.

Enjoy your day,
Steve

Good morning all!
Thanks for today’s offerings Stu!
Well, the carpenters have started, they removed the old kitchen, the new appliances have arrived, time will get it all sorted!
It’s only money. . . . .
I trust you are all enjoying your weekend!
Well wishes to those who are trying to keep themselves healthy!
Play safe!
