Good morning everyone

There's a mix of Kicking Horse medium roast and some other brand of French roast in the pot for you today; the canister's down to the point where the KH is almost gone and the remains of the FR are mixing in. It's a pretty tasty mix, actually.

It's 33°F and calm in Rockville, headed for 58 with more sun than clouds.

Mrs. Fun and her sister arrived on schedule yesterday. After breakfast the sister will continue southward to Charlotte; I'll head for the usual Thursday uke session and then to the retirement party of a friend and former client. He's also a motorcycle and woodworking buddy, so we're never short of things to talk about.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Thx Keith, good horse!

8˚c/46f, calm, fog.

Was up early due to the annual service for the Rav at the dealer.
Took about one hour, cost $1100…….that’s a loud and clear pfffffft!

The reminder of the day I’ll be pouting over the forementioned robbery.

And some cooking.
And picking up Mrs Stu from work.

Have a better one!
Stu

Someone just told me “your coffee is just a crutch!”
Correct...
And I’m leaning on it...
with my full weight... :coffee:

G'Day...

3°/13°C today, haze, sunny, slight wind, feels rather cold...

home and office caffeine supplements already absorbed quite some time ago... ☕

Late to the party, had to work through a € 120K project... office complex... 3 floors... + BMS interface...

@STooRay 1100,- for a 1 hour "service" feels kinda excessive (unless they'd swapped the gearbox or such...)... so pfffff indeed... :cautious:

ze GF is urging/reminding me to apply my days off for the May vacation... right... them gals always have so plans...

But: tomorrow is Friday... yay... 😎

thanks for the start Keith
geeze, they could have at least told you they had to have the car for the day
wet [maybe one of the wettest?] week here on the lower mainland as the atmospheric river winds through
I think we got a few more days yet not as much as some parts will see if there's a few dryer patches come the weekend
might get a chance to flush some fresh gas through something or other $2.10 yesterday... should be $2.35 by Saturday
who knows will be a short anyway might have to look for a better rain helmet as well
wish everyone a good one

I just put in for 7 weeks of half days in April & May. I have a bunch of vacation time I can't carry over and must use before June1st or I lose it. I'm sure there will be a honey-do list forthcoming.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Keith.

It's cloudy and 25, rising to 43, later.

Yesterday's ski event went off well, although not as long as I'd have liked. Our usual parking spot at South Peak was closed, so we went over to the main area and used that as our base of operations. Frozen courderoy is what I'd describe it at first, but the snow loosened up a bit as it got skiid on. I got to ski around some icy spots, and dirt was replacing snow in a few places. I'm glad I made it there when I did. I don't think the season will last much longer. I managed 12 runs before my knees started bothering me too much, mostly on blues, but a couple of diamonds were had.

Today, I'll head over to the gym, and cut the railing to length for my stair handrail project. I measured for it the other day, and marked up where the rail will go using painter's tape. I'll find the studs, and mark them as well.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the Kicking Whatever coffee, Keith.

Last week, my Insta coffee maker died and I switched over to a pod brewer until I ran out of pods. Then I fired up a 4 cup Mr Coffee dripper that came with my camper. This little $12 unit takes for-ev-er to brew 4 cups, kinda like watching paint dry. But dang, it makes the best tasting coffee. I guess the longer brew time adds to the flavor, so I’ll be sticking with it, although some days I have to make 2 pots.

Warming up. 41/70 and sunny. Record high of 85 expected Saturday.

John

Mixing coffees is not the same thing as adding creamers and sweeteners, so it's all good. But you have to start with decent coffee. Which yours are, Keith, so thank you.
Similar to John's TN forecast, but slightly warmer. Yum.
Once more I have no story for ya, except the replacement rubber donuts are too arrive today... I'm still mad the one in the replacement kit won't work.
So that will be tonight's project, and "shouldn't" take long.
It ain't rocket science or internal combustion, after all. (I never pour gasoline down the commode.)
Next project,... lawn mower.
My neighbor cut out front yard, and that makes me feel bad.
Nothing costs $$$ like a Deere, I guess.
Get off my lawn!
Unless you're bringing a weedeater.

G'morning all, and thanks for the hybrid coffee, Keith! You're right, it's quite tasty!

Despite the fact that the long awaited Vernal Equinox occurs tomorrow at 10:46 a.m. EDT, Old Man Winter hasn't completely given up on us just yet. The next few days are going to be a little messy: the light snow falling right now will eventually turn into mixed rain/snow this afternoon/evening. The precip should stop for a few hours overnight and then the snow starts falling again tomorrow morning. We'll get another short break from that before more snow descends on us on Sunday. I guess 'ole Yogi was right: It ain't over 'til it's over. Today's temps will range from the current -4°C/25°F to 2°C/36°F with respective windchills of -7°C/19°F and -2°C/28°F.
Nothing much happening today except for a Happy Hour gathering with some of the neighbours (a semi-regular occurrence) this afternoon and a call to my sister in Ottawa later on to wish her a Happy Birthday. That, and trying to figure out why I can no longer send/receive emails through my Outlook app on my PC - gives me a send-receive error and tells me it can't connect to the server. Gmail works fine on all my other devices, so the problem seems to be with Outlook. Sigh. PITA. Oh, well, first world problems and all that.

Everybody have a good one, stay safe and go safely. And keep a positive Outlook.

Patty

Good morning all!
Thanks for the coffee Keith!
@Obo, the gas is very expensive here in FL $3.99.9 for regular & $5.28.9 for diesel (per US Gal - credit card price)

I’m bunking at my sisters in Brooksville, FL.
I’ll leave here tomorrow morning, I’m stopping to visit @sah48 (Scott), on my way to Hardeeville, South Carolina where I’ll visit friends for a couple of days.
When I leave there, I’m heading to Tazewell, VA to visit with another friend.

It’s cool here again today 53/72F or 13/23C
At home on the Bruce Peninsula, they got another 2-3 inches of snow.
Enjoy your day & stay warm!

Good Morning, thanks Keith for coffee, transporter is slow this morning. Me body is complaining about me reassembling Lady's wheels with new tires. Which means haven't had coffee yet. 1100 for a Service, Pfft, and here I'm flinching at $690 for new Tires on the bike. Was actually pleased that it only took 2 and a half hours to reassemble the bike. Now if it would stop raining will take it out for a ride. Yeah it is Raining 10 C and raising to 12 C , phone says 1.45 inches of liquid with another 1.25 inches to come for the next 24 hours. Stay safe G

Morning Keith & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

I think we just skipped over Spring and jumped to Summer. It's 59F, up from 35F and heading for 84F. A slight breeze now, but later the winds will be out of the NW @ 8 to 9 MPH.

I'm trying to connect a new water line to my irrigation line, that goes around the back of the house. The line is buried about 18" down, so I'm having to dig a pretty big hole to get to it and then be able to work on it. Also, my French drain is above the water line, so I have to deal with that too. But once I get it done, I'll have water up to the greenhouse, once it's done too. :sneaky:

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) for later.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:
