Morning all. French Roast is in the pot. I know your priorities.

Weather here? Cold at -3. It was a cage day. Later though, it'll pop up to 7 under cloudy skies. I'll be at the dentist, getting a pre-cavity filled. Not quite sure what that is, but they said it's better to fill it now vs when it's a problem. I think it's related to dollar signs and insurance, but what do I know? After that, I'll stop at visit with my mom.

Hope everyone has a great day, and if you want more coffee, help yourself.

Obo.

Good morning everyone

There's freshly-brewed Cubano roast in the pot for you, and in my cup for me. Go for it, I say.

It's a mild 49°F and partly cloudy (our first clouds in more than a week) in Rockville, going to 66 under partly sunny skies later.

Speaking of later, I'll be meeting a new member of my uke group later for a couple hours of one-on-one practice time, and after that I'm scheduled for the usual late-afternoon half round of goof with friends.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Coffee... :coffee:
the distinctive aroma to forget how painful being awake actually is... :o-o:

G'Day...

-2°/11°C @ 73% RH today... slight haze, overcast, maybe a few spritzer... 🌦️

ze GF on her NT...
me on the ST...

each threw a cup into our faces and left da house... ☕☕
she to the office...
me to a recruitment agency, mandatory as per instruction of the unemployment office...
they have an opening/requirement at Kremsmüller...
Dunno, I'm weary about all those 'staff leasing corps'... 🤔
but lets see what they have to offer...

Back home, no serious other plans...

... I'll be meeting a new member of my uke group later for a couple hours of one-on-one practice time...
oh... the fear... ;)

its a whooping 51 in my area of Michigan this morning

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee, Obo and Keith.
Brenda picked up some apple turnovers, corn muffins and bagels, so you won't go hungry.

It's 27f/-3c in MA this morning, rising to 57f/14c later.
It's clear outside and it'll become partly cloudy, later

Yesterday worked out pretty well.
Haircut and gym. Did a little PT/stretching at the gym and cardio on the Arc trainer.
The battery company called me a little after noon, and I went over and got the new VFR battery.
Installed said battery, and had to take the VFR for a short ride around the block, of course.
Since the bike hasn't been ridden in two years, I found the registration and applied this year's sticker to the plate.
I wasn't satisfied that the plate keeps getting bent, so I fabricated a backer plate out of some 1/8" Bakelite that I had lying around. I had to futz around with the band saw, as the drive belt kept falling off of the pulley. I turned it around, and it seems a bit better. I haven't used the saw regularly since my airplane project ended.
I also cleaned up the tank and seat areas, since although it was covered, the bike was/is dirty.

Today is Club day at the track.
Once that's done, I'll see if I can wash and wax the VFR.
The horn put out a little "meep" when I pressed the button, so I'll take the left handlebar switch-gear apart and spray some contact cleaner to try to get a more reliable horn. That was the reason that I didn't put it on the road last year.
If I can get that unstuck, it'll be interesting to go to the dealer for an inspection sticker in November!

Have a great day,
Steve

The horn put out a little "meep" when I pressed the button...
Reminds me of the little incident on my way back from that recruiter today:

Some flatbed hauling an hydraulic work platform got almost stuck under an overpass...
The driver crawling forward inch by inch, thus blocking the right lane was causing quite a backlash, me on the ST stuck right in it...
the driver of a tiny A-Class Merc (AKA Baby-Benz) got impatient and leaned on his button "...meeeeeeeeep..."
Me right behind on my ST had to laugh out loud...

dude, that ain't a horn... THAT'S a horn!!!... and utilized my left thumb:

BLAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHT!!!

🤣

FIAM dual tone snail types for the win... 😎

Yoh, being out of work does not mean that I have nothing to do...

Just fixed up ze GF's car...
some ignorant SUV/4x4/pickup with a trailer hitch/ball had backed into it, shattering the radiator grill in the process...
while only cosmetically, the darn MOT inspector objects on that, because, and I quote:

"... some child could reach into there and injure its little fingers..."

the argument "... then its bloody parents should have told it to not touch a stranger's car !!!..."
is not received well in today's overly liberal world... 😒

But there are breakers, and there is eBay...
Found a complete "beak" for that model, frame in a different color though, parcel service just delivered, so out came the socket set...
The swap is done in no time, the car now even has a newer looking, not faded badge now...

But you know Murphy...
Just in those 10 minutes I was out on the street, removing the old shattered beak from the hood,
some head hunter called... and kept redialing when I returned into the house, both hands full... 🙄

At times 'being in demand' can really suck... 😉

Morning Obo, Keith & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 47F, up from 38F, and heading for 62F. No breeze yet, but later the winds will be blowing out of the SSW @ 15 to 25mph. For the rest of this week, the lows are in the 40Fs, but next week, according to the Weather Guesser App, the lows drop into the low 30Fs and even into the 20Fs. Here comes Winter!

I went to my VA Hearing Test. According to the "Tester" I failed pretty bad! In other words I can't hear worth a darn. But Chris already knew that! :cautious: Now I need to get ahold of the VA and see if I qualify for VA benefits.

Today, I'll be shutting off the irrigation water and blowing out the lines, so I don't have a freezing/broken valves and lines. I had to replace one valve last Spring due to I didn't get the water out of the Anti-Backup setup.

We are back to waiting for Chris to wake up for breakfast. ;)

Anyone :dr13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:

Morning all. The sky is mostly clear with a bit of cloud. The Weather Network claims we're having a light rain with more to come. Currently 7C (they say it feels like 5C) with a predicted high of 10C.

I also took the cage to work as we are out of a number of grocery items and I wouldn't be able to carry the whole load on the ST. While I missed riding in, it was somewhat abated by being warm and toasty, listening to music and sipping on a caffeinated beverage.

That's about all I have as I don't want to horn in on anyone else's conversation.

Hope everyone has a great day!
