Della went to post a happy birthday message on John's page and found out that he had passed back in January. We met at several events and always had good conversations and some laughs. I had even stopped in to visit him at home a couple of times after his riding had ceased. He is missed. I always enjoyed his company.

We are all on the same highway with different exits. The destination remains the same. I hope to see him again somewhere down the road, likely drinking a coffee and having a smoke with Bob Donaldson.

John's Obituary

I felt pretty bad when Judy informed me of his passing, after I had posted a birthday message on FB. Sad.

Just yesterday, I was thinking about John, wondering how he was doing and if anyone had visited him lately.

He will surely be missed by many.

RIP

I met John at my one-and-only Moonshine appearance, 2017. We had a nice conversation and I will always remember him in kindness.

RIP John.

I had the same experience as Mac, left a birthday message on Facebook only to have John's wife, Judy, respond with the bad news. RIP Sourkraut

I haven't seen John in quite a while. He was always easy to get along with. Lord knows I tried many times to get him riled up and couldn't. I will remember John as a mild-mannered, easy-going man. No telling what Smick, Sisk and Donaldson are up to right now....probably enjoying pie, lots of laughs and a good smoke. I surely hope so.

I can't remember the event I was at when John showed off his Tap Dancing moves. He was really good at it. Nothing but good memories about John! RIP my friend.

He was a good one. Like others have said - easy to talk with and always listened to your story as well. Ride far and often with our other friends.

You were an enjoyable conversationalist John and I enjoyed BS’n with you. Condolences to the family.

Enjoyed being around him as well. Went down to visit him at his house a couple of times, had lunch in Taylorville. I have a restored Jeep and drove it down to show it to him. He has an old military Jeep he was working on as well. Like others have said, he will be missed.

Stopped by his house a couple of times too. Once Bob Donaldson and I spent the night in his living room chairs, always a gracious and entertaining host. I'll miss him.

Tom
