Hi
New to the forum and live in Aberdeenshire Scotland
Recently bought a ST 1300 with the Honda top box (which I think is made by Givi???) and side panniers.

Anyone advise where I can buy the retaining straps/rope x2 for the top box? These stop the lid from flipping fully over/open See photo
Also looking to buy the internal elasticated straps for the side panniers, believe there are four per pannier. The last owner said he had these when he ordered the bike, but the broke after time and he never replaced these.

I had the same issue on the top box. Fabricated my own from nylon rope. Once I had them the cor ect length I added the shrink wrap. Working fine for 6 years. No signs of wear. The straps for the paniers are available from Honda. Ron Ayers or other OEM supplier.

Well Neil, figure your close enough to where GIVI manufacturing is in France, you may be able to contact them directly and order the original replacement straps.

Hi All thanks for your comments/advice

Neil,
These won't break the bank.
Well probably not.

Zounds! Two n a alf pounds! Shipping cost across the pond will exceed that.

Looks like some steel fishing leaders would work fine. That's what is holding my mirror covers on instead of plastic zip ties..

+1 on the steel leaders. Available anywhere that fishing gear is sold, easy to use. I have them on my saddlebag lids.

Ay up SMSW, last time I looked Aberdeen wasn't across any pond, Firth of Forth yes, but no pond.
Upt'North.
You are assuming that none of us ST'ers over in the new colonies have an interest in those little straps. Somehow it never occurred to me that something so simple would be sold without the entire case. I'll have to look for them over here. Firth, fjord, whatever, the Atlantic qualifies as a large pond.
