About 4years ago at 41387 miles, I completed a general maintenance on my 1995 ST1100.
New tires, engine oil, engine coolant, filters, brake fluid flush, clutch fluid, lubed splines, rear diff oil/paste, etc. etc.
For health reasons I’ve only managed to put on about 1000 miles on it since then.
Now I am ready to get back on the bike and put some more miles on it.
Do I have to replace all of the above again or can I get by with just engine oil and filter?
All opinions and comments welcomed.

Does it still start? Gasoline typically has a shelf life of 3 to 6 months before it begins to degrade, lose volatility, and cause engine issues. Ethanol-blended fuel (E10) often degrades faster, lasting only 1 to 3 months. Proper storage (cool, dark, sealed containers) and using stabilizers can extend this life to 1–2 years.

She is always stored with fresh gas and fuel stabilizer, in a detached garage. Battery connected to a maintainer after every ride. She has always started on the 1st-2nd push of the button. I have not tried to start her this year. Last time she ran was November last year.

I just noticed my message count, it's seems inaccurate. Does this have something to do with the "great purge"?

In addition, just check your brake pads have not fused themselves to the disc surface. If they are scraping and the wheels are turning that’s not too bad, but be careful the first few applications they will bit visciously. They should free up very quickly, giving your disks and pad surface a good clean up !

Yes. Your message count is what's left.

Brake fluid is hygroscopic - it will absorb moisture from the air. After 4 years of sitting I'd change both the clutch and brake fluid - and do a full flush of the system. It will take less than a quart and cost under $10 (house brand at NAPA last summer).

What the good folks have said plus maybe take the seat and the tank cover to make sure no critters have taken up residence, especially the rear cowl area.
Glad you are getting back on the hose so to speak.
