It's actually tomorrow, but the subject is on my mind today. I'd like us to take a moment...it should be the entire day...to remember and thank in our hearts those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. I was just posting in the thread on Wise Sayings, a portion of the speech Patrick Henry gave where he said, "give me liberty or give me death!" Beginning back in those days, patriots have given their lives for what we have today.

It continues today.

So please take a moment and think of the blessings each of us has today, and remember those who have died to make those blessings possible.

Our Legion Post placed flags on the graves of the fallen at North Cemetery Saturday AM, Memorial Day parade starts at 1100 today, with USAF flyover. My grandfathers, Dad, father in law, and I are all veterans. Both grandfathers WW2 (one Europe, one Pacific) combat vets, Dad was a combat vet in Korean War, I served in the USN (HM2 FMF) and didn't have a shot fired at me. We were all fortunate enough to come home. Many did not, and it's sobering to see the price our small town in western Pennsylvania has paid in war dead when placing flags .
