-3°/2°C, the usual gray overcast, snow/sleet predicted for noon... 🌨️

home and office caffeine doses absorbed... :coffee:

office, caught up on my first morning emails and tasks... a moment to lean back and exhale <phew...>

yesterday's family restaurant orgy was a feast... 🥴
The place (named Wok Master) is huge and crowded, as ze GF made reservations for a party of 16 we got honored with a big round table in an extra room... 😎
My strategy of consuming small dishes/portions from the buffet over a longer period paid off, ended up stuffed to the gills whilst not suffering any discomfort... 😉

Them elders have a different approach though, ordering an a la card menu that gets served to the table, they won't have to get up and take a walk along the overvelming buffet for picking their food...
Slightly amused I observed the food handling by SIL's MIL who brought her humongous handbag, obviously lined with some Tupperware... 😆
OK, why not, they can't possible finish those large dishes, plus its already paid for anyway, so why waste... 😉

As said, the place is huge, I munched myself across the opulent buffet like the Pack Man... 😎
They also offer Teppanyaki (fresh BBQ), place a clip with your table number on a dish, pack whatever meat, seafood and veggies you like on it, place it at the counter, and the chefs work it over for you...
But you don't have to wait there, once done they place it on a service-robot that's rolling over, a smiling cat face on the screen chimes a "ni hao!" announcing it has your plate aboard... 🤖

Good morning everyone

Thanks for the start, Martin. Those all-you-care-to-eat buffets can be deadly.

It's 35°F and cloudy in Rockville, where it feels like 23 thanks to 7 mph from the NE but later on it'll be cloudy and 44. Once the sun comes up the feels-like will climb to and exceed the actual temperature. Works for me; let the snow meltdown continue, I say.

It's a Federal holiday here today (President's Day) but that means very little to me as it will mostly resemble any other day where my calendar is empty. Ukulele will be played. Indoor bicycling may (really should) occur as well, but will it? Only the Shadow knows.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.
 
President's day... oh yes, I was a President once I remember it fondly... Actually it was aweful, I'm much happier with today being Family Day instead
Good day yesterday nice weather pulled the carbs out of the VStar, should have done that today instead we're in for a bit of less great weather but still haven't had any snow

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Martin.

It's cloudy and 26, rising to 37 and remaining mostly cloudy, later.

We spent the day, yesterday, indoors watching the Olympics, Daytona 500, and removing leftovers from the 'fridge.

I haven't got anything planned for today, so we'll see what the day brings.

Good Morning , Thanks Martin for coffee and wisdom. Family Day? For me a new holiday to get use to, being retired don't matter. On the Plus side this afternoon Celebrating a Granddaughter's 16th birthday and my 66th , Miya was born on my 50th birthday on the 22 of this month. Only Grandchild I know how old she is. Weather, Cloudy 34 F high 42 , 55% chance of rain at 3 pm. Well grocery store run is needed, so will check in later G
 
G'mornin' from SoMD! Today we dry out from yesterdays rain, it's 44F/7C and cloudy. Princess #2 again had to relieve herself at 0600, then back to bed, much to the chagrin of the already- ravenous Prince Of Purrrsia. Woke up again at 8 to feed the barely-alive herd...oh how they suffer by my scurrilous hands. I'm well caffeinated now, thanks Martin! We have a Korean BBQ place like that in the next town, where you cook your own meats right at the table and it rolls out on robotic servers. But you have to be watchful as they are carrying orders for multiple tables, easy to grab the wrong dishes! Still fun but I'm not good at it, I prefer to let them do their thing and I just eat it!

It's been an interesting past few days. Got to enjoy some delicious beef wellington at one of our favorite restaurants with my wife back on Saturday, though she did have to go to work later that night. Yesterday I spent working on the snowblower trying to find out why it only ran on full choke and sometimes surging, but no dice. Carb is clean, no intake leaks. Thinking it's a weak governor spring or something like that that'll require removing all the covers to get to it...saved for another day.

Then I girded up my loins and hoisted my ladder to get up into the attic to see why my outside temperature was reading 79F instead of the 40s. Well, turns out when I had the 2nd floor heat pump system replaced in 2018, they didn't bother to fully tape up the main outlet duct. And 50% of what they did do had come loose. So I've been air conditioning my attic for 8 years! Yes, I should have gone up sooner to check it, but live and learn. The part they never did is what burns me, about a foot long and 5/8" gap (from making the new unit fit the old dimensions), and underneath in between the case and the drip pan. Can't reach my hand under there either, but I fed foil tape underneath and got it closed up. We'll see how my electric bill changes, and I'll remember to get up there more often now.

Today will probably be some more garage work and chores. Real exciting huh? Take care y'all!

Ref the snowblower ..... just for giggles, make sure the vent in the fuel cap is clear. A partially plugged vent can do weird things! It has happened to me twice.

I use a I/16” drill, find a place where the water can’t get in & drill either the cap or the filler neck.

Well.... that was weird. I was browsing as usual in my Duck Duck Go browser, and went to open the Windows weather app. The app opened but displayed only the left-side toolbar and a big blank white screen. ("Is this their way of telling me it's going to blizzard soon?" I wondered.)

After a VERY long delay the display filled in- with the MSN home page! Simultaneously, a new DDG tab opened to the same MSN page.

I closed both, and re-opened the Windows weather app, which this time operated as expected.

Whaaaaaaaa?
 
Late morning Martin & All from overcast & :wind1:, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 52F, up from 42F and heading for 54F. The winds have been blowing, pretty much all night. Right now they are from the S @ 17 to 20mph. Later they should be from the SSW @ 30 to 43 mph. The storms are supposed to hit around 5PM or so, we'll see. :well1:

Not much yesterday and I don't see much going on today, either. It is nice being retired, since I don't have to go out into the mess it' is making. :)

Eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) on the menu for later.

Usually a blocked air vent in the cap results in it stalling after a few minutes. I suppose if it's partly plugged, it could behave like its lean but even right after cold start? I think our snow days are over for this year, but I'd like to get it sorted out while I'm thinking of it. Thanks all!

Last year and so far this year I have not had to pull out my "Battery" powered snow blower. The Weather guessers keep telling us we're going to get some snow... I'm still waiting... :well1:
