Good morning everyone-

There's fresh hot French roast in the carafe, so come and get you some.

It's 49°F (!!) in Rockville- dang near on to chilly- but will warm to about 74 by late afternoon. Guess I'll be wanting a light sweater for the early round of goof that's on my schedule.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

These damned weekends are starting to feel like a 15 minute lunch-break...

G'Day...

16°/26°C, sultry, chances of hitting 30°C later, partially overcast, thunderstorms with territorial rain* and possible hail* in ze afternoon...
(* we had those already yesterday evening...)

Office... SOPs... Nescafé long gone... :coffee:

GF is out on a BBQ with former coworkers, we'll see if they get washed away there... ;)

enjoy your start into the workweek

Good morning, everyone. Thanks for the FR, Keith. Liquid jumper cables for the Monday slow starters.

No sweater needed here today. Clear, starry skies and 62 to start, but sunny skies and 82 will feel like 88 this afternoon.

Another trip to town is in store for this morning, picking up more RTE necessities. Then a quick (2 hour) mow and trim. Then probably some pressure washing of chairs and tables. Dog needs another bath, if time allows. Definitely, an iced tea and short britches kind of day.

John

good morning all. thanks for the coffee Keith. 66F on the dog walk with clouds and stars to view as we walked along avoiding the water puddles here and there. the rain stopped some time after I went to bed at 2000. at 0230 this morning the roads are dry. just the puddles are here to show it rained.
have gym this morning and nothing planed for the afternoon. the high should be 81F. enjoy the day

stay safe

Ain't that the dang truth!
Thanks for the jumper cables, Keith. (Jumper cables... nice. I'm stealing that one now.)
Mower is still down, but i replaced a garden hose with 2 annoying pinhole leaks with a heavier-duty hose from Harbor Freight, and i managed to not screw that up. It works every time.
So far...
Kaiser got a bath, and while he may not have actually enjoyed it, he didn't fight me. After a couple minutes of rough toweling, he dried quicker than I thought. I bought a cheapo hard-sided plastic kiddie pool at Walmart a few weeks ago, small enough to fit in the Element, for when it starts to get hot. Thought it would be handy for his baths, too, but he wouldn't stand still in it. He'll like it better i think, once it's filled up for him to lay in. He barely fits.
I'll call in a friend my age who I used to work for, at a local Park & Rec, to help me diagnose the sick Deere... Jim has been taking apart small engines since he was 13. At the P&R, he worked on the big Kubota tractor, the zero-turns, and the golf-course quality reel mowers. My ace in the hole.
We WILL get that damn thing running again.
Well, let's get this Manic Monday started. There's no telling how many we all have left, but surely not as many as when we started.
Tally-ho!

Thx Keith!
Autumnal over here today, June often is…
10˚c/50f, showers, 35mph wind.

Cooking is my only item on the agenda.
Maybe drill hole in some pebbles/stones for my trolling (fishing…!!) rig.

Have a good one!
Stu

From yesterdays beach walk, water temp 10˚c/50f …

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Keith.
I added an oatmeal raisin muffin that I shared with Freya.

It's sunny and 50 in MA this morning, rising to 69 and becoming partly cloudy, later.

Yesterday's USCRA event went off okay, although we had some occasional horizontal rain showers.
We met at the Chinese restaurant afterward, for dinner.

Today, I'll head out to clean the filters at the restaurant, we'll head to the range this afternoon, and continue on to our son and his wife's place for dinner with them and the grandkids.
There may be a gym visit, but there are no guarantees.

Enjoy the day,
Steve

G'day folks, and thanks Keith, the coffee is much appreciated this morning.

It's 15°C/49°F here too, and while a tad on the cool side, it's within the normal range of morning temps for this time of year. The day will bring sunshine with a few cloudy periods, and a pleasant high of 20°C/68°F. It's a welcome change from the miserable, cold, soggy, very windy weekend we just had. I felt badly for the slews of people who participated in yesterday's annual Tour de l'Île de Montréal ("Tour of of the Island of Montreal"), a full-day circuit that has people (individuals, couples, families, folks from all walks of life) explore Montreal's unique neighbourhoods by bicycle, throughout most of the island. It's a bit of a pain for motorists, as a great many of the city's streets are closed to traffic for the whole day, but it's a huge event and people expect it, so they plan accordingly. Sadly, the weather couldn't have been crappier yesterday, but that doesn't seem to have deterred thousands of avid cyclists from coming from all over (including a group of my friends from New England, who participate every year).
Keith, I always think of you when the Tour happens. You should come up and do it one year, you'd love it. And you'd love Montreal!

Welp, time to do something productive, or at least, useful. Everybody have a good one. Stay safe and go safely.

0642, the Prince of Purrrsia insists on being fed by nearly opening my bedroom door (he's learned to open others). The Princesses chime in by rolling around and being nice, so I get up just as my 0700 alarm sounds. Stumble downstairs, kick the mutts out, and placate the Prince before he sends me to the dungeon to be tortured by a thousand claws.

The FR was just what I needed, thank you Keith! Yes, it was a bit chilly here too at 48F/9C, but expected to be brilliant today and really the rest of the week slowly climbing through the 80s until we get another chance for rain. So, a good opportunity to dry out after getting 2.5 months of rain in 2 weeks.

Today is WFH, then I will probs be trying to diagnose my little, old, Aircap mower. As soon as I post it for sale it decides to be its cantankerous self and not run. I am trying to thin the herd but they don't want to leave! Will prob use the re-ringed Toro to mow today to get it broken in so it can sell too. Please, please let it be good! And then? Well let's see if we get that far. Until then, take care y'all!

Good morning all!
Thanks for the liquid hand up Keith!

I’ve been coasting in the work department!

We had a friend come up to work on his cottage, he was asking if we had seen any bears yet.
We told him that we took a couple out looking for them the night before and only saw a couple of Sandhill cranes, etc!

He expressed an interest in coming along if we wanted to go out for a look. We saw 3 bears, the last bear was a huge boar! (Male)

@Andrew Shadow, if your ladies would like a bear tour, they can contact me when they’re here to see if we can arrange something.

There are 2 bears in this picture below, the second larger one is to the right at the edge of the bush.

It’s a lovely morning, 48/61 F, with a SW breeze today keep our hats on.
Enjoy your Monday!
