having a friend mounting a car tire (205/50/zr17) for me and he does not think it will fit without removing final drive. going to have him mount a 205/55/17 or 205/60/17 instead since he thinks he may be able to make that fit. anyone else having difficult mounting issues getting a 205/50/17 to fit?
Search DarkSide , and pick a known tire that has been tried tested and works. There is no need to guess at it as there is lots of good info on this site.

I did not need to remove the final drive although that's not really a big deal. You will need to let the air back out and soap of the tire to slip in.
On my older 1983 GoldWing, I remove the final drive to change the stock tire. It's only 3 nuts and much easier than not removing it. However, it's not needed on the ST1300.
