I couldn't resist a new, old stock 2014 CB1100 at the dealer yesterday. Sweet bike. The only thing 80's about it is the look. It runs and handles like a modern sport bike.
This will be my choice for shorter day rides or perhaps an overnight or two. I will keep the ST for long rides.

Ooooooohhhhh.....pretty!!!

Congrats Jim - that looks really nice! I read BamaRider's review of his new CB1100 with great interest. The resurgence of no-plastic / naked / it really IS a motorcycle .....motorcycles is pretty interesting. For once (in recent times) Honda led the pack on this trend with that snazzy CB1100.

I have been seeking a lightweight (650-sized) modern bike to compliment my fleet which consists of the ST and two 1970s vintage Yamaha 650s, and nobody has one that isn't either a cruiser, has a fairing and clip-ones, or is a little on the large side for commuting (like your beautiful new CB1100). I'd love to have one of those...but I'd like something a bit lighter for dodging traffic.

There are tons of great engines out there but the bikes themselves are just too ugly, too off-roady (motorcycling is "adventure" enough for me) or have too many "R"s in the designations (I do not want to be a boy-racer anymore and my knees just cannot bend like that either).

The Suzuki SV650 is the closest I can find to what I want - maybe I'll break down, bust open the piggy bank and get one of those....

Cheers and ride safely!

Pete

Congrats on the new bike! I really like those "new" old school looking bikes with modern technology. I could see me on one of those as a daily rider.

Hi Tinboat! Ferret and I are here too!

If anyone has any questions or comments on the CB1100, pop on over to cb1100forum.com. Ferret is the senior moderator there.

Hey Tinboat! Hey Popgun!

I think Curlyjoe is here somewhere too and of course Bamarider.

Yep great stablemates that really complement each other. Just know you are going to love the CB's easy going nature.

Congrats

Congrats on a nice bike! You can't go wrong with a Honda. I almost bought a 1978 Honda 400 CM, recently ( in great shape)....a mere puppy though. Have fun.

It is very much under rated by those that don't own them. Those that do, know what a remarkable bike it is.
