I was given a set of bar risers from another forum member and based on what i have found on the net, they are Genmar brand risers based on the finish and shape. Its a 2 piece (left and right side) that fits on the stock triple tree under the stock bars. The risers only came with 2 longer replacement bolts, and I am in NEED of the 3rd bolt with the threaded center to attach the center cover. The stock bolt is too short. Does ANYONE have a couple spare bolts, or can anyone point me in the direction of where I can buy a set????

I've tried calling Genmar manufacturing based out of New Mexico using the phone number on their website and no one answers. I"ve reach out to them via facebook and also no answer. I wonder if they are out of business perhaps???

If anyone has a set of bolts and they are not using them, please let me know!!! I will pay for shipping and buy the bolts from you. Thank you so much!

From another direction, can’t you measure the bolt dimensions and thread pitch and get a replacement at a local hardware or fastener shop? I regularly use this method if I’m missing a bolt that doesn’t have a particularly special attribute.

Do you mean the two bolts positioned at 3 O'clock and 9 O'clock when looking down from the seated position?
The two small 4 mm screws that hold the cover that installs between the two handle bars screw in to these bolts?

If they are Gen-Mar riser blocks, it should be the below, but check with a Honda dealer.
BOLT, FLANGE (8mm X43mm), Honda P/N 90137-MCS-A30.

See if you can attach a few pictures, not that hard to do and we can walk you through it if you like.
Sometimes you can find direction on certain risers on the web, did you try to find directions to state that you really need the third bolt.

Menards and Home Depot have a nice selection of stainless and chrome metric bolts.
The bolts that he is talking about are flange bolts that are drilled and tapped in the head of the bolt to accept the 4mm screws for the centre cover. It would not be difficult to drill and tap standard stock to make his own.

He needs bolts in that position. They are two of the three bolts that hold each handle bar on. These bolts are what the screws that hold the decorative cover screw in to. He needs these bolts, or needs to drill and tap standard stock to make his own and add a washer.

My riser only needed 2 bolts to bolt it down, that's why I requested him to take a few pictures.
Glad your familiar with these Genmar risers.
It isn't one of the bolts for the riser. It is one of the bolts that holds the handle bars to the riser. You have these on your bike as well, to hold the screws that the decorative cover screws to.

I guess his "Help" for riser bolts in his header with plenty of exclamation marks kind of sent me down the path that these are 3 load bearing fasteners and not decorative cover screws that hold a plastic cover on. :shrug2:

They aren't the screws for the decorative cover.
They are are one of the three bolts that hold each handle bar on. The inner most bolts for each handle bar have their head's drilled and tapped to accept the screws that hold the decorative cover on.

You're right that he wasn't clear, but I figured that this is what he is looking for.

Do you need just the bolts without regard for the center threaded for attaching the cover?

Per the parts list, that bolt is 8x18.

Honda, Bolt flange 8x18, 90137-MCS-G00

How much longer do you think you need? Or better, how long do you think it needs to be?

It sounds like you have longer bolts supplied by Genmar in the other positions. The OEM ones there are 8x20, so if you measure the Genmar bolts and determine how much longer they are than OEM, you could add that length to the ones you're missing and be close.

Those missing bolts are hex head. The others are socket head, btw.

Also, in my part if the country, Home Depot is the last place I'd buy fasteners for my bike. True Value, Ace, Wilco (farm store) and others carry a line of quality fasteners in a wide variety of sizes and materials. IMO, those sold at Homeless Despot are garbage. Been a while since I've visited a Menards, so no opinion there.

The Flange bolt with the threaded head that holds the cover is what he needs and it should be about 2.5 inches long vs the stock which is about a inch. He has the other two for each handle bar that are hexed head receiving the decorative covers. Each long enough. May have to find one from a hardware store and thread the head. Something new to do for me and I guess I need a thread kit now lol.

Andrew Shadow and John K, you are correct. I apologize if this was not better described. I considered going to a local fastener shop in my area called 'Tacoma Screw' to see if they could make something. I thought I would check here first to see if someone may have spare parts around.

I tried calling Genmar and reaching out to them first, but I think they may be out of business...Im having no luck in contacting them.

Yup, that sounds about right.

Gargling the internet coughed up a few articles with pictures and some specs. I've seen that the risers are 1 1/4" or 32mm taller, so the bolts needed are at least 50mm long (18 + 32 = 50mm).

The photo below is the GenMar product per the Q&A on the webpage.

Sounds like a challenge... :)

Dumb question, why not order from Partzilla or similar, or your local dealer?

I measured mine from the factory, 45MM length is what it looks like. IIRC you can take the mounting plate off, carry it to the HDware store and thread in a match. 42-50mm should do it. Take the riser just to be safe.

Partzilla! Thank you. I think I will order from there. Good suggestion since Genmar was not responding to me. Appreciate all the responses and info!

Isn't the problem with the OEM bolts that they're too short for the Genmar riser application? See the photo of the bolts in my earlier message, #15

@dlim can you measure exactly how long the bolts you need must be? I'm basing my comments on the

I've grabbed a few M8-60 bolts from bin stock at work along with a couple of M4-0.7 taps and appropriate drills. I'm hankering to chuck them in a lathe and make some for you.

These bolts pass through the riser and thread into the handle spacer, correct? OEM bolts will be too short.

Interesting, because per the parts lists those are 18mm. Even the drawing from the parts diagram would suggest that 45mm would be much longer than what's there. Are you don't have a bar riser already? :)

Yes, mine are from the factory risers. When I saw your post I went and pulled them from the parts box( installed helis) to measure. Your 50 mm number is probably good. I was hoping he was going to drill and tap a new set though. But path of least resistance and all.
