Since I was on here posting information for NESTOC I thought I would check out this section. I see someone has now reached 350,000 on an ST1300. So, I figured I should post this to keep the ST1100 in the lead. I turned 400,000 miles last fall but never posted it. So, here it is!

Wow that is fantastic that you it is still going. Are you still on the original engine? What has been your biggest problems with the ST? There is no stopping you now I guess. :bow1:

VERY COOL... I don't even have that award setup yet.. lol.. you've broken the system!... I'll work on that today.

whew, I did have that image sitting out there.... congrats!

Wow Alex, congrats! I only have 381k to go on my ST11!

Thanks! For those who have asked, it is still the original engine. I have never had the heads off the engine yet and it doesn't really burn oil. The worst problem it has had happened at around 385,000 miles. A bearing on the cam reduction shaft developed enough play to create a bad oil leak. This is the bearing behind the upper timing belt pulleys. It took almost a month to get the bearing from Japan and I was able to replace them without removing the head. While I was in there I removed the front cover and replaced the clutch, basket and oil pump chain and sprockets. The clutch was not slipping but had been acting weird with lurching starts uphill. I think it was notching in the basket that caused it. And since I was there, I figured it couldn't hurt to replace that little chain and sprockets that ran the oil pump. Other than that, it has just been routine maintenance and wear items. Believe it or not, the chrome wore off the fork tubes around the 300,000 mile mark. Luckily, parts are cheap on ebay!

Thanks for the reliability history! Eat that Chevy/Ford!
Interesting observation about the fork chrome. I polished the chrome off the gas tank of my 1962 Honda Super Hawk while in high school...down to the point it became a copper color, anyway. Never considered the same thing could happen to the hard chromed forks.
Sounds like you bought a very well built ST...and kept up with the maintenance.

Thanks for posting. I have 159K on my ST1100A and have been wondering how long she will last. The ST1300 has never appealed to me & I do not see any other bike I want to pay for... Did you swap out the brake rotors. I believe mine are near the service limit now.

I have also replaced, the calipers, rotors, brake hoses, drive shaft, water pump and exhaust. But I consider that stuff to be normal maintenance with this many miles.

Alex, was that the original clutch?
