Hey, hope you're healing quickly and well Mike,
Mike and Karen, I'm not needing a helmet yet, but want to get informed prior to needing one. I've been a Shoei owner for a long time and changed to Arai with my last one. After protecting my noggin, I've usually considered quietness next in line in my choices. I just checked out Nolan's site and would think about a n 103 most likely. I'm looking at the safety (EMT access) issues and the modular looks good. How quiet are the n 103s or n 102s? Has any one compared their quietness to any other helmets?
Karen, your statement a couple of days ago really helps:
"I crashed very hard this summer. I had decided to replace my 3 year old helmet shortly before. I destroyed a 2 month old helmet and still cracked my skull in 4 places. I honestly question if I would have lived had I been wearing the old one.
Helmet foam deteriorates over time. Helmets have a shelf life. I would NEVER wear a helmet that is more than 5 years old. I would rather walk or take a car.
Are your brains worth a new helmet or a new helmet liner?"
I'll be asking my wife, Loanne, to read that this evening. Thanks,
Get well Mike!
Rod
