Oil choice

I'm going to stoke the rotella fire here. Fwiw I usually use it as a "flush" oil since it's so cheap - like if I know I'm going to be dumping oil soon I'll throw it in.
I have no doubt it works for bikes, I just don't think it works well in my experience.
So you put bad oil in your bike to just flush out what? Bad oil?

Makes no sense.

Run whatever oil you want, it's your bike. Enjoy the ride.

I deleted the remark. Did you expect to fan the flames and have no comments back? Your comments might seem less spiteful if you at least tell us what you think is a superior oil to use in your bike.

I've used Castrol Actevo which goes on sale for very cheap on amazon if you buy 3 gallons at a time.

I've also used Honda GN4 and HP4 and Yamalube when I can get cartons on sale at my local dealers.

I used to use Mobil 1 but it's been going up in price close to where I live so I have stopped.

All of the above in 10W40. I have observed no differences in oil consumption, camshaft wear/ discoloration across multiple bikes when using the above.

To be noted I run conventional oil for less mileage than synthetics or blends (HP4 and Yamalube).

Question...did you see these bottles in person, or just pictures of advertising on the internet posted by someone else?
I ask because Shell has denied ever putting a picture of a motorcycle on their diesel oil bottles.
T6 at Menards here locally. (I went in the next day and checked because I forgot to look at the jug I have in the garage) Though many folks have used T4 and T5 for years with no issue.

Hardly warmed up as far as these things go......
Can I weigh in on this please? Thats because I am the self-appointed local in-house resident eggs pert on this oil thing! Seriously though. In the early 90's When Mobil 1 was about the only player in town as far as synthetics goes. I wondered what and why anybody would pay 4 bucks a qt. for a good grade of motor oil? So, I changed the oil in my at the time 1983 Yammer Hammer 550 4 banger Maxim. That thing ran like a hamster on crack!! Made a believer out of me. The wet clutch hated the stuff. Been running it in everything ever since. Till now. Seems Mobil 1 T6 oil is North of $12.00 a qt in Americanese dollars. So, I decided to jump ship and try Shell Roto Tiller T6 15W-40 in my 2006 ST in Phoenix climate.
Now with all my smart mouthing out of the way. I must say the bike shifts up and down through the gears way, way better with the Rotella than Mobil 1 ever did! And I've used Mobil 1 for almost 30 years! Fuel milage is about the same at right at 40 mpg. And I ride fast, as in real fast! So that being said, my 27 plus year old FL50 5.4 2 valve V/8 is going to get Shell Roto Tiller oil from now on. It's got 181k on the clock.
I will say that Shell's web sites make it pretty difficult to get concrete factual information from. But the API specs. on the jus clearly spell out the JASO specs.
Several years ago, I worked with a guy named Freddy. Freddy couldn't pronounce Rotella. He called it Roto Tiller oil, so the name stuck.
All the best Bill

Shell clearly IMPLY that it was JASO certified, which it has been proven many times over, that it has not actually certified it, only implies that it would pass the tests etc.
On another note, your bike should be getting much better mileage than that.
Maybe you should visit the ST Whisperer in Tucson.

could have sworn i replied.
Saw them myself.
I looked again while in O'Reilly's and TwilightZone and some of the weights didn't have a bike. T6 and only 2 of the versions. Newer style weights did not.

Noted, but as I said, I have not seen a real bottle of t6 on a shelf that really had that picture on it.
And She’ll claims it does not exist etc.
Next time your in a store and can really touch one, take a picture of it, I would trust that more than pictures on line.
