Parrot 4000 motorcycle bluetooth

Bluetooth is certainly the way to go for a bike, 'cause who wants to have to hook wires to their helmet?! But I'm waiting for a stereo bluetooth unit that will interface with some good-quality earbuds! Of course I realize that I might have to wait a while; but the technology shouldn't be that far away... :headbang:

I looked at it again at CES....it is a piece of rubber.

ALA Vaporware!!

But heck, I gave them a few dozen ideas....again! LOL

My Parrot bluetooth for my car (CK3100) plays through my radio. It seems to me that such a device can be configured to work with any radio setup. I have a J&M CB2003 and have thought about such a interface. My ISO to SAE wiring harness came from a guy in San Diego (www.quickconnectproducts.com) there is no cutting or splicing of anything, it is all plug and play, and they are very helpful when you call.

I have a Parrot system in my car, it is a great product, they constantly update the firmware to allow newer phone compatability and tech support is good.

If this new product is up to the same standards, I will certainly buy one.

Cheaper alternative with bluetooth

I have been using the following with my AM/FM radio, my mp3 player, and now my Zumo to get Bluetooth in my helmet.

I changed from helmet speakers which I really couldn't hear to earbuds which can be easily heard.

The Jabra Model A120 dongle ($24- Amazon) converts anything out of the players, including the Zumo, into stereo.

I have the following velcroed to the bottom edge of my helmet- (about the size of flashdrive) Satechi Wonder Stereo Headset ($69.99-Amazon). It paired up with the Jabra right away and once you turn both on, pairs up fast each time.

It came with a combination microphone/earbud set and says it will pair up to both speak or listen. I don't have an interest in using my phone with it (non bluetooth phone) so I can't speak to that, but it works great with the mp3 and XM features of the Zumo.

Also, both pieces charge with a mini USB port. The Zumo 12v and 110v adapters charge either one.

I found the info to buy these on this forum as well as the Zumo forum. For under $100, I'm happy.
So far so good!
