In putting together my winter farkle shopping list and I?ve come across some differences in part numbers between a couple of vendors, and I?m wondering if anyone can explain the differences? I guess I thought the part #?s would be the same.

David Silver Spares (DSS) part numbers seem to often end in ?800? or ?801? while the Honda Acura World (HAW) part numbers seem to end in ?100?.

Sometimes the prices are similar, and sometimes they are quite different. Not sure why, or that it matters, might just mean I spread the order around rather than getting it all from one place. Of course, I?ll have to factor in the additional shipping to make sure it?s worthwhile to split particular items.

Here?s a few examples:

At HAW part # 08P61-MCS-100 is described as a ?Honda ST1300 Tank Pad? at $54.60
http://www.hondacuraworld.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=08P61-MCS-100
and
At DSS part # 08P61MCS800 is described as a ?TANK PAD *A? at $34.35.

BIG Difference in price on this one?
At HAW part # 08T50-MCS-100 is described as a ?Honda ST1300 Heated Grips with Thermostat? at $170.18
http://www.hondacuraworld.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=08T50-MCS-100
and
At DSS part # 08T50MCS801 is described as a ?Accessory Heated grip set? at $343.48
http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/parts/part_75208/

And one last example,
At HAW part # 08A30-MCS-100 is described as a ?Honda ST1300 Accessory Wiring Harness? at $14.79
http://www.hondacuraworld.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=08A30-MCS-100
and
At DSS part # 08A30MCS801 is described as a ?Accessory Quartet harness? $42.53
http://www.davidsilverspares.co.uk/parts/by-part-number/partnumber_17561/

Any thoughts or explanations?

Joe

Honda Acura World is getting out if the motorcycle side of their business; so, if you find something you want there you might want to pick it up quickly.

I'd verify the part you want on the online microfiche and then go for them... I can't see why David Silver Spares is less; but, I'd make sure the monetary conversion and shipping from England doesn't effect your total cost calculations...

Resurrecting this old thread, I've been trying to buy the quartet accessory harness for my 2009 ST1300 US model. That part is discontinued and I missed a used one on eBay, although I see some new ones at ridiculous prices. I see for Europe and Asia there is 08A30-MCS-801, as noted in the first post, and this seems to be readily available. Does anyone know how this differs from the US part 08A30-MCS-100 and if this would work or could be modified to work on my bike?

Bill,

You may want to check out this for sale on ebay. I bought this kit for my ST1300 and installed no problem. The grips are a little shorter than the original Honda grips and will leave a slight gap between the bar end weights and the grip itself. You can either live with the gap, fab up a spacer to take up the gap, or as I did trim the bar end weights down to remove the gap. The grips get HOT when on high.

Did you get the quartet harness you were looking for? I have an extra that was part of a used harness assembly. PM if interested.
