Going down to LA cycle sports in the morning, my dads buying a 07 Kawi Nomad, and I'm going to ride it home for him, when we were looking at one locally (Fresno area) he told me he wished it came in red and black, he wished it had dual pipes running down the same side of the bike instead of one on each side, he also wished it has soft bags with the metal studs on it instead of the hard bags??????? I said dad, why don't you buy the Kawi 2000 classic, it has all the features you want and it's only 500 bucks more?? he said nope I'm sticking to my plan, he originally wanted the Nomad 5 yrs ago when he bought his Intruder, so now he's getting it, I said but they didn't make the 2000 then and it has all the things you want?? nope I'm getting the Nomad, I'll never figure my dad out.

I hope you and your dad get out together and ride a lot. What a great way to stay connected.

I guess that's how it works with some people. And I guess I could include myself as one of those. When the mind's made up, that's it! Still, either way, the bike is still waiting to "rumble".....!!! Have fun riding it home!!!

As mostly-dressed cruisers go, the 'Nad is a good bike. It's a bit of a pig in the parking lot, but once you're moving it's lots easier to handle. The two-tone green they had in 1999 is still one of my favorite paint schemes. :drool1:

Tell your dad to hook up with VROC. Lots of good folk there.

I had one of those as my return to biking a couple of years back. For a cruiser it's a great bike. All the bling of a Harley with the reliability of Kawasaki... can't go wrong. I'll be interested to hear if you find the seat comfortable

Regards,

Well we got the Nomad and to our suprise,( how often does this happen) when we got there the bike was ready, a first for me when picking up a bike in Los Angelis, and I asked the guy just to confirm the price qouted by OTD cycle sports, hey is it still 12,500 out the door? he flipped through the pages on his clip board and said nope! I was about to say *****!! and he said it's $12,300 OTD, cool , scored I said, they wanted 15 to 16K for this bike in Fresno.

I rode it home and was quite pleased, felt allot like my dads other cruiser, a 01 1500 Intruder, I hope he loves it, now on occasion I will ride his intruder when we go out for a ride.

Oh and by the way, the parts guy there smelled like he just smoked a fattie for lunch, My dad said he didnt notice, funny for a retired 35yr veterain of the CHP, but he did say he seemd really mellow, no duh!

Congrats to Dad... nice looking bike. Just needs a chrome radiator cover lol.

Well done.

Thanks, I need some B Day ideals for him. I refuse to buy his tassles for his grips, he has those on his Intrudrer.

An ST...

Or some heated gear so he can do Sequoia or Yosemite in the fall, winter and spring...
Maybe just heated grips... :)

That is so awesome that you and Dad get to ride together. Tell him I said CONGRATS on the bike.

Make sure he wears proper gear - no dew rags and wife beaters
