Pikes Peak

Maybe age, I’m 72 though and live at basically sea level. I did Mount Evans maybe 12-15 years ago. Got a little dizzy that time too.
Some folks are just prone to it. My sister-in-law, who is a tough as nails farm wife in Eastern Kansas, who can work like a mule all day at home, got flat out ill well before getting to the top. They had to turn around and come back down. Took her a couple of hours to recover.

Well, I imagine for some folks it’s more like Pukes Peak!

We did the Peak on the off season as well as getting there early in the morning, did the same thing on the Tail of the Dragon and Beartooth. I think I was lucky to have missed the grid lock.
The wife did get altitude sickness.
I told her I could make it up Pikes Peak in about 10 minutes to minimize her discomfort......She said no thank you

From what I've heard and personal experience is you should try to spend a couple of days in the Rockies to let your body get used to the intermediate altitude before trying to go up Piles Peak or Mt. Evans.
