My black Corbin has several areas of a lighter color from wear. The red piping trim also has faded areas. Is it best to dye, treat, the entire seat surface and what product has worked for you?
Recommendations please and thanks, Dave.

Sorry, did not make it clear. The leather is somewhat degraded and showing stress lines of wear beyond the surface. Some sort of re-coloring will be necessary. Thanks.

I would probably try some shoe polish first but there are all kinds of dye kits you can get...https://www.rubnrestore.com

PLEASE PLEASE let me know if you find something that works, AND does not make your nice new genes
have a black butt after you ride. Everything I have seen on the market will transfer color onto your pants.
The dyes used on leather when the hides are processed, are not the same you can get in a store....
some are better than others so buyer beware....

It might be best to have it recovered or dyed professionally. A new used seat might be cheaper. I have a Corbin seat and am not that attached to it.

If you have a Tandy leatherwork shop in your area go see them - they have a series of black dyes as well as sealers that will prevent ruboff once you're finished the job - they should be able to give you some good advice while you're there as well - my personal advice?? stay away from the marine black that they offer - it takes a LOT of buffing before it is anywhere near ready for sealing

Another way to do it is to mix up some "vinagroon" but it's a bagload of work and not for the beginner ;) (I only put it here in case someone else suggests it without the warning lol)

hope this helps
