I was examing the rear brake pads on my ST11 std. and discovered that the pads are not wearing evenly. There is probably 1/4 - 1/3 more pad left on the pad next to the pistons as compared to the other pad which is the pad closest to the wheel. The pad with the most wear is worn to the point that it probably needs to be replaced. If both pads had the same amount of pad left as the not so worn pad I would be in good shape. As it is, I am going to replace them.
I really dont recall seeing such a discrepancy in pad wear before. The caliper was rebuilt almost 3 yrs. ago and I have accumulated approximately 15,000 miles since then. The pistons are grungy and do need cleaning. Anyone know why there would be such a discrepancy in wear between the two pads?
