Red River NM

Left early yesterday morning and rode to Red River, NM, to check out the Memorial Bring Back the Ride. Pretty good crowd in town. I did not see another FJR but folks sure checking out one of the few non Harleys. Usually ride up and have breakfast at Shotun Willies but it was so crowded I just went on to Taos to get some food.
Went up to Taos Ski Valley then back into Taos proper (stream pic is a crossing about halfway up have no idea what the little tower says).
Taos is always a hell hole to drive through but this time was about as easy as I have ever seen. Go figure on a holiday weekend.
Got back home at 7:30 and 640 miles round trip.

Very scenic area to ride. If only there weren't those 40 mph rolling road blocks to avoid. I always enjoyed the road to Cimmaron and the road west to the river gorge.

I try to go West from the Gorge Bridge and make it to Chama. I loop back through Antonito, CO back to Red River.

We stayed in Red River once for a few days in early May and rode around the area. We enjoyed it - except that I got a speeding ticket in Cimarron.

Cimarron is a well known speed trap. You are the revenue.
