Completed my first ever iron butt ride I set out Saturday morning with the intent of completing the ride around Ohio saddle sore. Got to give some thanks to @sirepair for the help with the route and tips for fuel stops. Also to @OhioDeere for the several calls just to check in and motivation. I manage to compete 1,189 miles in 21hr 16 min burnt a total of 30.87 gallons of gas and came in at around $120.00. Had a few hick up in the early start with 2 detours 1 could have been avoided on my part had I planned alittle better and it cost me an hour the other was a suprise. All and all the ride was a great day. The 1100 preformed flawless and the weather was just right to complete my first ever iron butt. Now just looking forward to attempting my next.86EBA4C1-3B6C-4101-A5F5-A751FC119B97.jpeg5DD9A690-C8A0-4B34-971B-E756A0426E1E.jpeg8B35EAA1-48CD-4D44-A59F-17788F9050A6.jpeg

Very nice ride! Having in-laws up that way, I have been through a lot of the same towns, and of course, to the Pumpkin Festival!

I feel like everyone been to the pumpkin show myself I try to avoid it but being we live there it’s hard cause the whole town shuts down for it

AWESOME JOB!!!:hat4:

Would you care to share the route, as I've had the same thought. I'm in the Marysville area, so I'd likely go out Route 33 toward Ft. Wayne to start my route toward the Indiana border, then loop the state!

Nice. I like how closely the route follows the border and impressed by the the amount of non super slab roadway used to get it done.

Congratulations!! My numbers fixation tells me you only averaged 38.5 mpg? Is that correct? Is that what you usually get?

Way to go Travis!!!!!! Maybe someday I'll get the initiative to get something like that documented!! ;)

yea.. That's what it calculates to. I would think that's fair mileage for mostly 2 lane road and lots of stop/go for intersections.. Plus hammering it when you have the opportunity.

usually for the type of riding i do i average around 40-43 MPG but yes it was down some for this trip but like doug said there was a fair amount of stop and go and then when i did slab it across 80 it was hammer down to make up some time for several hours

it was 22 out of circleville to hit 35 and runt that over to catch 75 in dayton ran that south to Cincinnati from there i caught 27 ran it north to oxford and caught 127 North all the way to Montpelier. from there i caught the turnpike 80/90 and ran that clear to Cleveland and got on 2 that ran to Ashtabula. had a lunch stop there and caught 11 south and ran it until it turns into 7 and ran 7 all the way around the south side until 52 and ran that all the way back to Cincinnati.. then back up 75 to 35 and home... the longest slab i hit was the 4 lane of 80/90 rest of the route was mainly 2 lane.. and the worst part is 7 from marietta to chesapeake that was a slow and long time it felt like...
