Good morning all

The French roast is on and waiting for you, so help yourselves whenever you're ready.

It's 20°F in Rockville but very windy (I can hear it rushing through the bare treetops as I type, and we have a high wind warning in effect until 1900 hours this evening) so it feels like -13. That makes the extreme cold warning that we're under until 1000 hours this morning actually worthwhile and meaningful, not merely alarmism.

Yesterday's snow turned out to be mostly a non-event. We got maybe - MAYBE - 0.1 inches - not enough to worry about clearing so I'll stay indoors and warm and let the wind blow and blow and blow.

What will I do while indoors? I've no idea. Well okay, I do have some ideas, but no real drive to do most of them.

Stay safe and well everyone and tell your dear ones you love them. Do it today, NOW, for tomorrow may be too late.

Good morning, and thanks for the coffee start, Keith.

It's 22 and snowing in MA this morning, rising to 23 before dropping to 10. We're due for 2-3" of snow before it ends this afternoon.

Yesterday's ski trip turned out well.
The new boots work for me, and I was able to ski for a little over 3 hours, before my knee told me it was time to go home.
I got home just in time to head over to our favorite Chinese place for dinner.

Today, I'll watch the winter wonderland develop outside, before travelling BACK to NH for our New England Motorcycle Racing association awards banquet.
Brenda mentioned maybe getting a hotel for this evening, and we'll have that discussion again when she wakes, I'm sure.

Have a great day,
Steve

Good morning, folks. Thanks for lighting the fuse, Keith!

We got some snow overnight, but the flakes seem to have stopped falling for now. Conditions will remain overcast with further scattered flurries likely throughout the day. We've got a pretty stiff breeze blowing here too, as evidenced by the windchill of -27°C/-17°F compared to the actual temperature of -16°C/3°F. It'll only get a couple of degrees warmer (both real temp and feels-like), so it'll be an indoor day for me as well.

Everybody have a good one, stay safe and go safely.

Patty

G'mornin' from Flow-Rida! We are sitting at a not-too-terrible 57F/14C at the moment. My body is somehow believing the herd needs feeding and letting out at o-dark-hundred, so here I am up anyways. Thanks for the FR, Keith, and I am not sorry I'm not up there trying to keep from getting blown away and flash frozen all at once. No thx.

MIL Day 2 went better. A lot of the stress from yesterday was from her hearing aids not working, which I deduced was due to them not charging. The audiologist confirmed and gave us a new wall adapter free of charge. Once we got those working again, conversations were much more two-way. Unfortunately, my wife caught the brunt of her sharp tongue while I was getting them fixed, having to rely on slow pen and paper to try and respond to her awful and incorrect accusations. It was a losing battle. Hearing aids in and a TV time out later, things were much more civil.

The heat works now and isn't smelly, so she is tickled to not have to wear her entire wardrobe to keep warm. I made baked salmon and potatoes and we were all stuffed. I'll make more for her to have after we leave.

Other honey-dos around the house mainly just light cleaning and her garage door has some worn out rollers and is really loud (not to her). So, I have some nylon rollers coming today. Won't get them all done, or might not get any done given her limited tool inventory. We'll see. Also need to help one BIL set up Alexa to video calls and play music or something he wants to do from afar.

Welp, time for another cup. Take care y'all!

Thanks for the start but it'll be back to my [usual] tea this am; I think the prescriptions I'm on didn't like it yesterday
Well it was a good one yesterday, should have spent for time out on the bike but recovery comes first; no beers...
today is warm maybe getting to 8C and the rain is or will be setting in do some taxes, reports... blah
How's that for inspiration :wine2:
Wish everyone a good one make the most of it

Greatly appreciate the coffee this morning Keith!!

I just managed to get/fall out of bed. It just felt so warm and comfy I wanted to stay all day! My cold is fighting hard to stay with me so it feels good to sleep.

19F (the predicted high for the day) and snowing lightly here at the bachelor pad this morning. It seems to have been doing it a while because it looks to be about 2 inches on the ground already. The weather app says it should stop before noon and the skies break up enough for the temperature to drop to -2F tonight. Tucked into the pines I am not seeing much wind but who knows, some may sneak in later.

I'll make some fried chicken later and attempt to figure out something else to make with whatever other ingredients I find in the fridge.

Some good news yesterday. The tumor in my brother's lung appears to be reacting to the chemo and is about 40% smaller.

Time to go find something for brunch so everyone be safe, be careful and bundle up as appropriate for this weekend!

Good Morning World, thanks Keith. What comes after two days of Rain in Vancouver? Monday, or more rain. Might be a good thing, not as many people coming to the Air Park.46 F high 51, wind 8 to 13 mph from the east. Did I mention it is raining. Done my usual duties, so now to figure out what to do with today. Y'all have a great weekend G

Thanks Keith!
Been up a good while, lazily drinking coffee and watching bike videos on MeTube.
We'll walk the pup, and then I'll meet a friend at the Chili Cookoff.
It's cool but above freezing, so can't complain. Makes it a good day to eat chili.
I wonder if they'll have any cornbread to go with the chili?
Doubtful.
I'll let y'all know tomorrow if it was worth it.
Probable.

Morning Keith & All from sunny, Southern Utah!

Currently it is 41F, up from 24F and heading for 58F. No breeze yet, later the winds will be out of the NW@ 9 to 10mph.

I was able to get more of the shirt around the shed deck, but I had to remove about 5 boards to do it. That required me to cut a couple of them, since having them staggered trying to just bend them up, out of the way didn't work.
I still have a corner to do, and then I'll put them around the big shed as well, it just won't be as difficult, I hope.

We have a Baptism to go to, and then for the rest of the day, who knows.

Boiled eggs, bacon, toast & OJ to start the morning. Pepsi(s) for later.

Anyone :bl13:, have a great day on the roads! :hat3:
