Seat Pads

H20SKIER

I'm going cross country in June and am considering a seat pad, I was looking at the Alaskan leather butt pad(sheepskin) I hate the way that the full covers look so I will probably go with a strap on pad. Any input on any other brands would be appreciated.

+1 on the Alaskan Butt Pad. I've used the Aerostich pad, but the Alaskan pad is way better.

+1 on the Alaska seat pad-very comfortable plus cooler in the summer and warmer in the cooler weather.Low cost plus quick shipping.

I just got my '07 ST and have bought a new seat pad in prep for a trip in May (Houston to Colorado and back). At the advice of a friend, I've bought an "AirHawk" pad which is supposedly designed from the medical industry. I work overseas, so haven't seen or used it yet, but I'm looking forward to trying it out. I did considerable research and it seemed to be the most highly praised (I'm sure there are differing views), due to it's adjustablity (you inflate it, then deflate to fit your rear, etc.) and the fact that it doesn't raise you that much off the seat. You might check it out....obviously, I can't swear it'll work, but based on research I did, it seems to best for me.

Thanks all, I will be ordering my Alaskan Leather pad today.

if you go with the alaskan butt pad, put deadsheep in the coupon code, it'll get you 5 or 10% off...I forget which. I ordered mine last week and had it within 4 days...now if the snow would just leave us so I can try it out...

I have both and found that after a long day in the saddle wit few stops (i.e. IBA events) the Alaska pad wears thin. The AirHawk takes some fiddling with to get the right amount of air but seems a great solution. I've heard of folks getting the Alaska pad and putting some good foam (1/2-1") under it and saying that does the trick.

ymmv

I just ordered it tonight. Alaskaleather.com. Can't wait till it stops snowing so I can get on the bike and try it when it gets here!!!!!!
