My bike started doing this 1st to 2nd awkward shifting two months ago. Finally put a big mirror under bike and found out the 2nd shift linkage ball mounted to the transmission shaft is loose. Ordered new one to replace it.......waiting.

The linkage was lubed last winter. Preloading has solved my issue.

P/N 41242MR5000, Piece, Damper Wheel...... I'm not sure about the alu parts, not sure what those look like
Never found them offered by 3rd party vendors...
But they (as well as similar shaped* rubber dampers) are used across a variety of Honda models, like the VT750C, NT700VA, GL1500C Valkyrie...
* due to different displacement/torque and vehicle weight the shore rating might vary though...
