One thing I hate about side opening cases is stuff falling out. I found some elastic nets on Amazon for $9.99 a pair. Size 15.7in by 9.8in. Using a Harbor Freight grommet set for $4.99 and some small caribiners from walmart for $0.96 a pair and some zip ties I got a little better organization out of my side cases. Right one is mounted to the lid eyelets, and left one to the case eyelets for now. IMG_2315.JPGIMG_2322.JPGIMG_2317.JPGIMG_2324.JPGIMG_2326.JPG

Great idea. Originally I thought you were going to have put them on the inside part of the case so that when you opened the lid the contents didn't spill out but I see you did one that way and the other on the outer side. Is that also a light inside the case?

I did the same thing using third-party cargo nets designed for the GL's trunk. I tie-wrapped them to the bottom of the outer shell and use small hooks to attach the tops to loops built into the panniers. A very handy mod.

As a door prize on NatStoc pizza night I received a pair of GoldWing nets that work good for the ST side cases. Not sure if it's the same ones as you had. Had 4 hooks that worked good for the corner plastic loops in the ST13 cases.

Don't remeber the name of the company. Yellow card header on a clear bag if that helps. ;)

I went with the H15407:

Hopnel H15406. Available on Amazon at a good price. I bought two... they work great.

That's the one, and less money then H15406!
I do understand the tie-wraps you mention now that I think about it. The hooks do pop out. I just bent the hooks a little more closed so they don't un-hook so easily.

Yes, little GE brand LED lights that I got at walmart years ago that run on 3 AAA batteries. Look in the lightbulb isle. Have them up with 3m duolock. Sometimes they fall down when you hit potholes. But still nice.

Hopnel ones are nice. Probably would've went with those if I knew they existed. I do like the ones I installed as they are net pockets as well.

My '01 ST1100 has elastic straps with clips in both the main cases and the lids. The 1300 doesn't have them?

No! We got rubber tires instead:rofl1:

In all seriousness, I would like nets but Amazon don't sell them in the GWN so I went with criss crossed budgee cords instead. Works reasonably well for what I carry in my side cases.
